Loudon County Schools is excited to be one of 83 districts across the state participating in Tennessee Accelerating Literacy and Learning Corps (TN ALL Corps). The TN ALL Corps model is a research-based high dosage, low-ratio tutoring program. This model creates high-impact learning experiences and drives strong outcomes for students. Targeted students in 1st-8th grades are served in-person in a 1:3 or 1:4 teacher to student ratio, at least two times each week during 30 or 45-minute sessions (depending on school). When serving any student in 1st -8th grades, the tutoring content focuses on reading or math for an entire semester. TN ALL Corps Tutor Job Description and Responsibilities • Education - must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalence. •  Complete the online TN ALL Corp Training (TACT001) and participate in professional development sessions provided by the district or school. • Serve assigned students 2-3 times per week, focused on reading or math during the entire semester. • Work with Tutoring Coordinator and Teachers to provide tutoring sessions that last between 30-45 minutes during a designated block of time • Maintain required teacher to student tutoring ratio. • Plan with Tutoring Coordinator and Teachers to prepare to provide students with effective tutoring instruction using Zearn (math), Reading Plus (reading), high-quality instructional material, and other district-approved applications. • Collaboratively plan with classroom teachers, school leaders, and district leaders to provide consistent individualized support to targeted students • Focus on re-teaching missed or unlearned standards-based content • Progress monitor students as directed using identified platforms (AIMSweb, Zearn, etc.) • Communicate student progress with all stakeholders (district leaders, school leaders, teachers, parents, and students), including working with the school’s Tutoring Coordinator to distribute the monthly student progress reports to parents and collect the signed progress reports for all assigned students. • Record attendance according to school policy. • Manage small groups of assigned students effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the TN ALL Corps program on the school site. Hours and Rate of Pay • Weekly Hours o 4-10 hours per week (as scheduled) • Hourly Rate of Pay o $25/hr. TN ALL Corps tutors will be hired through the Loudon County School System and must have a background check upon employment. Tutors will be subject to all federal, state, district and school laws/policies. Bachelor's Degree with appropriate level and coverage of certification and English as a Second Language pre-K-12 (490) endorsement strongly preferred. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Test student's language proficiency levels based upon student's response to the home language survey and the Individual/Group Assessment tests. Prepare, in advance, meaningful lesson plans. Place English language learners in appropriate ESL programs.  Collect data and follow Individual Learning Plan (ILP) procedures for students who do not pass the norm-referenced test and ensure student placement into appropriate programs. Act as a liaison for the school, community, and parents; establish and maintain good rapport with students, school personnel, and parents. Plan and provide instructional activities for instructional assistants who work with ESOL students. Work with the school media specialist, other teachers, and district staff to obtain appropriate materials for English language learners. Monitor student progress for at least two years after program exit. Keep accurate records, tests, reports, etc., as required by Tennessee law, regulations, and Board of Education Policy. Participate in staff development and in-service training. Establish and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to teaching and learning; plan and implement use of classroom time effectively. Articulate with classroom teachers. Provide the appropriate educational opportunities and instruction for each student according to his/her ILP, needs and abilities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Designee.
