Job Description

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Systems Technician to support our El Paso, TX operations. 

Under the direction of the facility's Technical Director, the Capabilities, Development and Integration (CDI) Cell's Distributed Mission Operations Air Defense Artillery (DMO-ADA) Systems Technician is responsible for the configuration, installation, and administration of DMO-ADA systems and software applications along with all associated training support services (chat and VoIP) to support our customer's training objectives while executing DMO-ADA related training events within the facility as well as tactical site locations. This individual ensures that systems' hardware, operating systems and software applications are operational, integrated and updated as required to meet organizational training timelines, objectives and Information Assurance (IA) requirements.  Integrates new and existing systems and services as directed by the customer or organizational leadership in support of all funded tasks.  Provide updates, as directed, to the Technical Director and Government Leadership.    


Job Functions:  

  • Integrate Patriot and SHORAD systems over a Local Area Network (LAN) in support of customer training timelines and training objectives
  • Install system updates and document via a configuration management plan
  • Install new hardware and software systems or components, ensuring new systems and/or applications are compatible with existing networked systems
  • Apply patches for both software applications and operating systems (both Windows and Linux)
  • Configure security settings and access permissions for both groups and individuals
  • Must have experience working with ADA-related systems, software and tactical data links and demonstrate the ability to integrate ADA systems across Joint infrastructures
  • Proficient in both basic and advanced computer system troubleshooting techniques and demonstrate experience installing and managing clients and using multiple operating systems (MS Windows and Unix / Linux)
  • Provide weekly and monthly status updates to the customer, as required
  • Maintain classified storage containers within Government open storage areas


Required Skills:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and maintain and establish excellent customer relations with internal and external customers
  • Learning and sharing new skills honed through independent research, formal training and industry events
  • Capability to work independently and self-motivate
  • Experience integrating and operating Air and Missile Defense Systems and Components
  • Experience working with Virtual & Constructive AMD Modeling & Simulation Systems and Software Applications
  • Read and understand complex technical materials and apply knowledge derived from them
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to continual changing work demands or situations
  • Ability to adhere to common workplace rules and procedures
  • Experience working in a classified government facility with DoD Air Defense systems
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Travel Required: 10%
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Candidate must currently have an active Secret security clearance and be able to maintain this clearance level during employment (Top Secret Preferred) 


Education Requirements:

A completed Bachelor's Degree in a technical-related field is preferred, but not required.
