WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: You will be responsible for receiving, processing, packing and shipping blood products/samples for hospital orders. You will triage the order based on date and time needed, select and carefully pack life-saving blood products with the correct temperature regulating product to ensure safe transport . You will communicate with hospital clients, volunteers, and vendors, and maintain product records to preserve traceability. As a Red Cross Team member, you will take care of your team members – show up for every shift and give 100% while you’re there. Interact in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD : Key Responsibilities Ensure products/samples are suitable for release for distribution, while meeting production goals. Perform good inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and shipping process Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements. Perform data entry associated with further manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping; maintain and review accurate physical and electronic manufacturing records Analyze and make decisions based on visual inspection and information provided from other departments to meet time requirements and quality standards. Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements, and perform disposition of unacceptable product May make hospital deliveries as assigned The aforementioned responsibilities of the Distribution Technician describe the general nature and level of work and are not an exhaustive list. Standard Schedule : On- -call position with varying days, hours, etc.. It will include evenings and weekends . Training: First 4-6 weeks, regular daytime hours ( 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) Pay Information: $15.00 per hour There is a shift differential of $1.75 per hour from 3pm-11pm and $2.25 per hour from 11pm-7am. An extra $1.00 per hour for any weekend hours. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED : High School diploma or equivalent Two years’ experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills. Position may require a valid driver’s license Physical Requirements: Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods . Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds . May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time . The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Oregon State Public Health Laboratory (OSPHL) in Hillsboro, Oregon, is recruiting for a COVID-19 Client Coordinator to support efficient and timely client services and collaboration to enhance COVID-19 testing at OSPHL. The Oregon State Public Health Laboratory (OSPHL) plays a critical role in Oregon’s response to COVID-19 by providing timely testing for populations at risk of infection and in response to outbreaks.
What will you do? As the COVID-19 Client Coordinator , you be responsible for the following duties:
Coordinating group collections of specimens to be tested at OSPHL.
Identifying and resolving specimen submission concerns.
Collaborating with health systems, local public health authorities and other facilities submitting specimens to support populations at high risk of COVID-19 transmission.
Creating and distributing specimen submission guidance.
Supporting OSPHL’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Enhancing efficiencies within the laboratory's contracted courier system for specimen transport and providing surge capacity in the operations section of OSPHL for specimen receiving and collection kit distribution.
What are we looking for?
Requested Skills
Minimum requirements: A bachelor's degree in laboratory management, public health, business administration, public administration, or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work related to laboratory and/or public health operations; OR any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work related to laboratory and/or public health operations
Master's in laboratory management, business administration, project management or public health preferred.
Experience in project management related to public health or laboratory management.
Experience professionally partnering and communicating with agency staff, management, local public health authorities, state epidemiologists, tribes, community service providers and/or hospital systems.
Experience with laboratory information management systems.
Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, Project and Visio.
Advanced skill in technical writing.
Experience promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
