Job Description

Lewis-Clark State College invites applications for the position of Instructor / Assistant Professor in ELL/ESL Teacher Education Generalist.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications:  $43,000 - $50,000.

Degree Requirement:  MA required for Instructor rank.  PhD or EdD required for Assistant Professor rank.  ABD considered.

Required Qualifications:

LCSC seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure track faculty position with a specialty in ELL/ESL who is also a generalist in K-12 education.  Successful candidates will be innovative, creative, and engaging faculty who wish to join a team that works collaboratively to develop and deliver a teacher education program that prepares professionals to meet the challenges of teaching in the 21st century.  Applicants should have a PhD or EdD in ELL/ESL Curriculum & Instruction.  Candidates with a Master's degree with intention to pursue a doctorate and ABDs will be considered.  A minimum of three (3) years in K-12 education with experience teaching ELL/ESL is required.  Candidates should also have a proven ability to develop and deliver online courses.  Successful candidates will be committed to program development and assessment and to effective supervision of student teachers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supervising student teaching internships.  Potential for scholarship demonstrated by publications, presentations, or grants. Active in relevant professional organizations.  Experience providing academic advising for Teacher Education majors.

Responsibilities:

Teach 24 adjusted credit hours per academic year as assigned by Division Chair (teaching assignment may include online instruction).  Supervise student teaching internships in the schools.  Advise Teacher Education majors.  Grow the existing ELL teacher endorsement program.  Be actively involved in relevant professional organizations; develop a record of publications, presentations, and grants.  Participate in Teacher Education program assessment.  Serve on division and campus committees and work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
