WHO WE ARE: A NATIONAL INITIATIVE TO END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS

A Way Home America (AWHA) (www.awayhomeamerica.org), a fiscally sponsored project of TSNE (www.tsne.org) is a national initiative to build the movement to prevent and end homelessness among young people. We are youth homelessness providers, advocates, researchers, government agencies, philanthropists, and young people uniting behind a common goal:

  • Prevent and end homelessness among all youth and young adults.
  • Ensure that homelessness among youth and young adults is rare, and if it occurs, experiences of homelessness are brief and one-time.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a driven, organized and equity-focused individual who is in-tune with the leadership of young people to serve as the Director of the AWHA Grand Challenge. This person will be responsible for leading and coordinating the entire national effort to ensure the goals of the AWHA Grand Challenge are met. This position reports to the AWHA Director and supervises a virtual team of 3 - 5 community coaches seconded from three separate leading technical assistance (TA) providers, as well as aligning and overseeing significant work by multiple contractors contributing critical knowledge on youth collaboration, racial equity and LGBTQ inclusion. This position is tied to the implementation of the AWHA Grand Challenge and is expected to last as written until January 2022, with the possibility of continuing in another role with AWHA.
