THE ROLE:
NextGen America is seeking a dynamic and experienced campaign professional to join the nation’s largest youth voting organization and engage young people in local and national fights to prevent climate disaster, promote prosperity for all Americans, protect human rights, and expand access to the ballot box for young Americans. WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE:

Position Overview
America Votes is seeking a talented leader with a record of success in coalition building, stakeholder management and electoral and issue campaigns to serve as the New Hampshire State Director.
The State Director is responsible for leading and supporting local, state, and national America Votes partner organizations in the development and execution of coordinated plans to advance progressive change in New Hampshire.
The State Director will grow the state coalition and coordinate strategies between state and national partners to maximize the priorities, resources, and effectiveness of all partners.
The State Director will take a strategic, collaborative, and flexible approach to coalition management, planning and decision making and can lead through periods of political transition and membership expansion. The State Director will recognize and capitalize on immediate political opportunities while also staying focused on long-term strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Campaign Strategy: Work with America Votes partner organizations and stakeholders to design efficient and effective statewide and ballot-level electoral and voter education plans based on short and long-term priorities. Coalition Leadership & Management: Convene individual coalition partners and the collective table on a regular basis and facilitate discussions, decision making, and other critical work. Assist local organizations in identifying resources to build capacity and improve performance, shared strategy, and organization-specific campaign plans. Implement systems for ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of strategies. Work directly with national staff and partners to ensure smooth communication with state operations. Explore strategic opportunities to expand coalition membership, partnerships, and collaborations with stakeholders. Facilitate a collaborative and productive state coalition environment that advances racial equity goals.
Equity and Inclusion : Lead the coalition in approaching campaign, electoral, and coalition work through a lens of racial equity. Model principles of equity, diversity and inclusion internally and externally. Be culturally competent and support work to build power with BIPOC-led and focused partners.
Advance Election Modernization: Support or develop ongoing programs and legislative advocacy related to election modernization in collaboration with voting rights organizations and advocates.

Key Qualifications
Required
7+ years of electoral and advocacy campaign experience. At least two cycles in leadership for statewide campaign operations and management of senior level campaign staff.
Expertise in electoral field program management, including outstanding organizing skills and the ability to write, evaluate, and execute winning campaign plans with a strong field component.
Ability to successfully manage a coalition in a thoughtful, strategic and inclusive manner.
Commitment to advancing racial equity through programmatic work, partner relationships and organizational systems and processes.
Experience working with underrepresented and/or historically marginalized communities, preferably in electoral, campaign, or organizing settings.

Compensation
Salary range is $100,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience, with a potential election year bonus, based on performance and the state's election landscape.

SUMMARY:
NextGen America is seeking passionate and hardworking candidates to join our youth organizing program in New Hampshire, working to engage young people in electoral politics by registering thousands of young people to vote across the state. NextGen is committed to engaging young people in New Hampshire in the political process and increasing participation among 18-35 year olds. This role will travel to and organize in several locations across New Hampshire as part of this ambitious effort.
This role can be based in several locations in New Hampshire and will require extensive travel to various campuses and locations across the state.
In New Hampshire, this effort will focus on organizing young people on campuses and the surrounding communities to bring progressive change to government through voting. Our work will engage young people in voter registration efforts, volunteer recruitment, and pledging young people to vote. Our 2022 electoral program will include traditional electoral organizing tactics such as tabling, phone banking, peer-to-peer text banking, and more to register and mobilize young voters. Organizers need to be comfortable and confident in: mobilizing their own community, growing their network to include new volunteers to train, and motivating community leaders to help register and mobilize their own networks. Organizers are directly responsible for managing a team of volunteers in their region to hit weekly and phase metric goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel to campuses, communities and locations across New Hampshire to engage with voters and potential voters
Hit defined field goals, including voter registration, traditional grassroots voter contact, earned media, digital outreach, and event planning and turnout
Meet all data and field reporting deadlines
In-person organizing, including voter and community engagement at voter homes, businesses, campuses and NextGen-sponsored events
Work with college administrations to increase civic participation and voter registration within the campus community
Implement a digital-forward organizing program that includes social media, direct outreach online, phone banking, text banking and creative tactics to reach voters where they are
Develop NextGen student clubs on campuses and work with student leaders to run these clubs and host events on campus and online
Develop relationships and partnerships with local community and student groups
Plan and host events within the community, on campus, and virtually
Recruit and train a local volunteer team that will organize their networks around voter registration drives and get out the vote efforts

COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS:
In-person organizing is an essential part of this position. Consistent with NextGen America’s efforts to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees, volunteers, and communities in which we serve, proof of full vaccination status at time of hire is an employment requirement for this position.
Please note that our program may change as conditions in each state fluctuate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff may be required to shift between remote and in-person work in response to changing conditions, such as: on-the-ground risk levels, public health guidance or local social distancing requirements.
COMPENSATION :
Salary of $4,278.65/month plus a comprehensive benefits package.
UNION MEMBERSHIP:
Employees in this classification are represented by the Campaign Workers Guild and subject to the terms of a collective bargaining agreement. This bargaining unit may establish and collect dues from their members independent from NextGen America.

SUMMARY:
NextGen America is seeking passionate and hardworking candidates to join our youth organizing program in New Hampshire, working to engage young people in electoral politics by registering thousands of young people to vote across the state. NextGen is committed to engaging young people in New Hampshire in the political process and increasing participation among 18-35 year olds. This role will travel to and organize in several locations across New Hampshire as part of this ambitious effort.
This role can be based in several locations in New Hampshire and will require extensive travel to various campuses and locations across the state.
In New Hampshire, this effort will focus on organizing young people on campuses and the surrounding communities to bring progressive change to government through voting. Our work will engage young people in voter registration efforts, volunteer recruitment, and pledging young people to vote. Our 2022 electoral program will include traditional electoral organizing tactics such as tabling, phone banking, peer-to-peer text banking, and more to register and mobilize young voters. Organizers need to be comfortable and confident in: mobilizing their own community, growing their network to include new volunteers to train, and motivating community leaders to help register and mobilize their own networks. Organizers are directly responsible for managing a team of volunteers in their region to hit weekly and phase metric goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel to campuses, communities and locations across New Hampshire to engage with voters and potential voters
Hit defined field goals, including voter registration, traditional grassroots voter contact, earned media, digital outreach, and event planning and turnout
Meet all data and field reporting deadlines
In-person organizing, including voter and community engagement at voter homes, businesses, campuses and NextGen-sponsored events
Work with college administrations to increase civic participation and voter registration within the campus community
Implement a digital-forward organizing program that includes social media, direct outreach online, phone banking, text banking and creative tactics to reach voters where they are
Develop NextGen student clubs on campuses and work with student leaders to run these clubs and host events on campus and online
Develop relationships and partnerships with local community and student groups
Plan and host events within the community, on campus, and virtually
Recruit and train a local volunteer team that will organize their networks around voter registration drives and get out the vote efforts
Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must be able to travel extensively to various locations around the state
Weekend and irregular work hours required
Ability to work independently and remotely
Effective communication in a digital and largely online environment
Driven by a strong work ethic
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and manage several tasks simultaneously
Previous electoral organizing experience is a plus
Bilingual candidates are a plus
COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS:
In-person organizing is an essential part of this position. Consistent with NextGen America’s efforts to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees, volunteers, and communities in which we serve, proof of full vaccination status at time of hire is an employment requirement for this position.
Please note that our program may change as conditions in each state fluctuate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff may be required to shift between remote and in-person work in response to changing conditions, such as: on-the-ground risk levels, public health guidance or local social distancing requirements.
COMPENSATION :
Salary of $4,278.65/month plus a comprehensive benefits package.
UNION MEMBERSHIP:
Employees in this classification are represented by the Campaign Workers Guild and subject to the terms of a collective bargaining agreement. This bargaining unit may establish and collect dues from their members independent from NextGen America.
