This role is fully integrated into the daily operations at the Theatre and will have the opportunity to learn from other professionals employed at the Theatre. Department staff and the Apprentice will work together to set and track professional development goals. Responsibilities
Create and implement curriculum for in-school residencies and onsite learning programs in collaboration with WT Education staff.
Observe and co-teach in-school residencies.
Assist in the coordination of in-school residencies.
Support community engagement events as needed.
Support day-of tasks for Student Matinee performances.
Attend regular meetings with WT Education staff.
Submit regular updates and reflections about classroom work.
Maintain and organize contact databases.
Attend professional development workshops, classroom observations, and occasional networking events.
Time Commitment & Pay
Hours will vary week to week depending on teaching schedules. A minimum of 12 hours per week. A schedule will be worked out between the Apprentice and the Arts Engagement & Education department upon hiring. Overall compensation for the position is estimated at $4,250 over the course of the 14 weeks.
Requirements
Must have reliable transportation to Writers Theatre and various locations around Chicagoland (car, public transportation, or otherwise). Writers Theatre is easily accessible from the UP-N Metra.
Must be in the office in Glencoe a minimum of one day a week. Some nights and weekends may be required.
Must be available on select dates:
February 19th, 8:30am-3:30pm (Pop-Up Day Camp)
February 28th & March 14th, 9:30am-2pm (Student Matinees of The Band’s Visit )
March 25th – 29th, 8:30am-3:30pm (Spring Break Camp)

In-School Residencies
The Novel Series
THE NOVEL SERIES is a 10-session theatre and literary arts curriculum designed to allow students to explore literature and the artistry of bringing text to life. Students engage in a layered investigation of text and enter a rigorous artistic process that includes deep academic enrichment and meaningful text-to-self and text-to-world connections. Teaching Artists collaborate with classroom teachers to choose a book and create curriculum. Students work in small groups and rotate through CORNERS that focus on vocabulary, writing, and discussion through a theatre-based lens in addition to performance. The corner work is paired with whole- class sessions and culminates in a final presentation of student work.
ACTIVATE Workshops
ACTIVATE is Writers Theatre's wraparound residency designed to deepen students' engagement with the art on our stages. ACTIVATE is designed to prepare for and extend students’ experiences at the theatre through participatory workshops. These pre- and post- workshops investigate contextual information and the major themes in the play working with Teaching Artists in conjunction with the school’s attendance at a Student Matinee on-site at Writers Theatre.
Write On!
Write On! pairs students and teachers with WT teaching artists to create customizable residencies in classrooms, after school programs, and community-based organizations. This highly tailored approach provides dynamic opportunities to explore theatre and text with a focus on creating transformative experiences and on encouraging young people to find their creative voices.
Onsite Learning Programs
Student Matinee Series
WT offers daytime performances for students on select weekdays. Most productions are suitable for grades 7 th and up. Performances are followed by a talkback with the actors. A study guide is provided for each production and in-school pre- and post-show ACTIVATE workshops with a WT teaching artist are available.
Pop-Up Day Camps
Day-long camps (9am-3pm) that occur on select school holidays and days of non-attendance. Young people ages 8-12 are invited to WT for an imaginative day of artmaking and a backstage tour of the theatre
Spring Break & Summer Camp
Designed to encourage young artists to develop their unique voice, our full-day camps pair hands-on, creative exploration of theatre performance, devising, and design with expert educators in our world-class facility. Each camp ends with a final showcase of the campers’ work.
Wake Up Words Family Playtime
The arts come alive at 11am on select Sundays at Writers Theatre. In each free 60-minute session, we pair a story with a different art form for a short performance and follow it with a hands-on activity for the whole family. Activities are designed with ages 3-7 in mind, but all are welcome, including those under 3 years old.
Family Matinee Series
Going to the theatre just got a little bit easier for parents and caregivers. With our Family Matinee Series, you can catch a Saturday matinee while your young ones engage in active creative play with WT Education’s professional teaching artists at an on-site class. Select Saturdays at 3pm. Ages 5-12.

Job Description
The Department of Dance at Hope College seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor of Dance Instruction position that will begin July 1, 2024 (but not on campus until August 15, 2024) . A terminal degree is preferred but not required.
The successful candidate will be a recognized instructor/performer/choreographer with proven tested professional experience, and qualified to teach multiple levels of Hip Hop and tap. Ability to teach additional technique classes (jazz and/or world dance), as well as dance theory courses (dance history, dance pedagogy, etc.) would be beneficial. The applicant should have imaginative and recognized choreography in their field, with an interest in participation/directorship of an affiliate pre-professional company. Individuals with a clear enthusiasm and record of teaching students of various technical levels in both departmental and general education courses in a liberal arts setting are encouraged to apply. Position Summary

Manage the art direction and design of all single ticket and season materials and lead the development of key art from conception to execution.
Oversee WT’s digital presence, including website, social media and online advertising.

Oversee, edit, and approve all copy produced in the Marketing Department for use across traditional and new media channels.
Oversee the creation, production, and execution of play programs for each production.
Oversee public relations efforts of independent PR Firm that manages press performances, photo and video shoots, actor media opportunities and other PR events.

Oversee subscription campaign planning and execution.
Use predictive metrics to help establish attendance, single ticket, and subscription sales goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Global Arts Live offices are located at 720 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, and concerts are currently held at different locations in Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge.

COMPENSATION

JOB OVERVIEW
As the Individual Giving Manager in a recently expanded development department, you will help shape an exciting new phase of growth and innovation for the organization. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, and working with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Global Arts Live staff, you will help create new individual giving strategies for major giving and membership as well as support pipeline development for the $15M campaign for the new performing arts center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design strategies for and implement membership campaigns, driving toward annual goals. Write, produce, and manage prospect and member communications, including direct mail, email, social media, webpages, online giving, and phone communications.
Manage individual donor stewardship activities and member benefit fulfillment, including thank you calls, donor swag, concierge ticketing service, etc.
Coordinate membership receptions and some special events, including supporting the anticipated 1st annual Gala.
Create advancement communications and fundraising materials such as email newsletters, gala invitations, and annual report.
Conduct prospect research and donor analysis to support all major gift activities.
Manage donor records in relational database, generate reports, and track, analyze, and report fundraising metrics.
Process gifts and manage acknowledgements for Global Arts Live members and donors.
Attend concerts periodically and promote membership.

JOB OVERVIEW
As the Individual Giving Manager in a recently expanded development department, you will help shape an exciting new phase of growth and innovation for the organization. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, and working with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Global Arts Live staff, you will help create new individual giving strategies for major giving and membership as well as support pipeline development for the $15M campaign for the new performing arts center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design strategies for and implement membership campaigns, driving toward annual goals. Write, produce, and manage prospect and member communications, including direct mail, email, social media, webpages, online giving, and phone communications.
Manage individual donor stewardship activities and member benefit fulfillment, including thank you calls, donor swag, concierge ticketing service, etc.
Coordinate membership receptions and some special events, including supporting the anticipated 1st annual Gala.
Create advancement communications and fundraising materials such as email newsletters, gala invitations, and annual report.
Conduct prospect research and donor analysis to support all major gift activities.
Manage donor records in relational database, generate reports, and track, analyze, and report fundraising metrics.
Process gifts and manage acknowledgements for Global Arts Live members and donors.
Attend concerts periodically and promote membership.

Coordinate and track departmental expense budget.

THE POSITION
The Director of Finance and Administration will manage the financial, human resources and administrative activities of The Fisher Center. This newly created position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work collaboratively across the senior staff and the entire organization, providing hads on management for finance, human resources, administration and information systems ensuring greater cohesion, communication and transparency between The Fisher Center’s administrative operations and programs, while maintaining close working relationships with the Bard Controller’s Office and Human Resources Office to ensure efficient and effective management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Finance and Administration will have ongoing responsibility for the following:
Finance
Manage the day to day financial function of The Fisher Center, including but not limited to: -Work with the COO, Artistic Director/Chief Executive, and Department Heads to manage the annual budget process across; manage its assembly for review by Bard’s CFO and the Advisory Board; -Provide proactive and regular financial information to the COO and Artistic Director/Chief Executive to ensure the understanding of the financial implications of The Fisher Center’s programmatic decisions; -Manage fiscal year reconciliation with Bard’s general ledger; -Prepare P&L reports and accompanying narratives for board meetings; -Assist in creation of budgets for grant proposals and final reports; -Oversee A/P and A/R across all departments; maintain accurate and ongoing cashflow assessments to better forecast vendor/payment priorities and work with Bard Finance on check release schedule; -Oversee corporate card expense reconciliation; -Coordinate payment priorities across all departments; -In coordination with Bard Finance, monitor and manage The Fisher Center’s endowment portfolio.

With the support of Bard HR and in consultation with the COO, develop more streamlined HR policies and payroll systems across the organization acting as an advocate for staff and be prepared to translate Bard’s policies, when appropriate: -With the COO, develop consistent hiring procedures, performance review, and exit interview processes across The Fisher Center and maintain equitable pay scales across departments; -With Bard HR coordination and approval, oversee drafting job descriptions and finalizing hire letters; -Oversee on-boarding paperwork for casual hourly, seasonal, and full-time hires; -Support departments with trouble-shooting employee paperwork/timesheet; -With the COO, address personnel issues as they arise; liaising with Bard HR and Title IX offices as necessary.

The senior graphic designer will have the opportunity to spearhead the graphic design arm by growing and evolving our new branding system created by renowned designer, Pentagram’s Paula Scher. The design system encompasses three of our main tentpole, public facing offerings including institutional and production show art from our Berkeley Rep stages, classes, and educational offerings within our School of Theatre, and artist development programs through The Ground Floor. The position manages a shared multimedia content fellow with our senior videographer and producer that has varying skills in graphic design, photography, and videography. Hybrid work is currently available, but the position requires regular onsite visits to manage institutional signage at our two theatres and a new educational and artist housing center all located in downtown Berkeley.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serves under the supervision of the director of marketing and communications while often interfacing with the managing director, artistic director, artists, and other senior staff.
Manages the day-to-day graphic needs of the whole of the institution that includes advertising assets (mainly digital, some print), direct mail postcards, season brochures, website graphics, social media graphics, indoor and outdoor theatre signage, invitations, email graphics, web banners, apparel and merchandise, fundraising materials, video assets, and more.
Ensures files are properly labeled, organized, and accessible via SharePoint.
Maintains and runs our graphic request system (all Microsoft tools) to organize and manage all incoming design tasks from various departments.
Manages multiple competing projects with often short timelines.
Tracks and traffics graphics with third-party vendors including printers and advertisers.
Ensures institutional adherence to the brand guidelines, as outlined by Paula Scher/Pentagram, across departments.
Designs with the audience at the forefront, including catering visuals to targeted segments.
Actively participates in workshops and trainings as requested, including harassment prevention, bystander intervention, anti-bias, and other equity, diversity, inclusion, and access initiatives.

Qualifications and skills
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a graphic designer.
Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
This is a high output, truly fast paced environment that requires a skilled hand at managing multiple points of feedback in short timelines.
Expert user in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite on a Mac OS (with particular focus on InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Acrobat).

Manages the ITS/Smart Mobility program including traffic data management, citywide fiber optic communications, a complex adaptive signal system and the transportation management center.
Leads implementation of the initiatives developed in the Smart Mobility Plan.
Coordinates pursuit of public/private partnerships to advance deployment of new mobility technology (autonomous, electric, connected and shared vehicles) in Bellevue.

Manages the ITS/Smart Mobility program including traffic data management, citywide fiber optic communications, a complex adaptive signal system and the transportation management center.
Leads implementation of the initiatives developed in the Smart Mobility Plan.
Coordinates pursuit of public/private partnerships to advance deployment of new mobility technology (autonomous, electric, connected and shared vehicles) in Bellevue.
Sets the strategic direction for the ITS/Smart Mobility program. Manages routine updates of the Smart Mobility Plan.
Establishes and monitors program scope, schedules and budget; defines the program goals, priorities, policies and procedures for program execution; identifies and addresses concerns that may pose technical, schedule or financial risks to projects.
Supervises the work of engineering staff, project teams and others; provides guidance, mentoring and evaluates performance.
Defines and implements standards, guidelines and performance goals for complex and highly technical smart mobility and traffic signal system projects.
Defines the level of traffic operational support for staff during special events, emergencies and routine daily operations.
Oversees the staff that ensures traffic signal operations meets applicable federal, state and city standards and codes.

WHTM-TV/abc27 is looking for the next Multimedia Journalist to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong writing skills, active and engaging delivery, and a passion for storytelling. This MMJ will produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful.

Essential Duties:
Reports news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
Pitches leadable, enterprise stories that are relevant to the local community
Gathers information through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social, or other functions
Arranges and conducts live and recorded interviews
Reviews copy and ensures accuracy in content, grammar and punctuation following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines
Determines a story’s emphasis, length, and format and organizes material accordingly
Researches and analyzes background information related to news stories to be able to provide complete and accurate information
Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
Revises work to meet editorial approval or to fit time requirements
Receives assignments and evaluates leads and tips to develop story ideas
Discusses issues with producers and/or news managers to establish priorities or positions
Interacts with viewers/users on digital platforms
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Fluency in English
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
Minimum two years’ experience in news reporting
Superior on-air presence
Proficiency with computers, cell phones and other newsroom technology
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Flexibility to work any shift
