A Day in the Life
Annual Planning and Strategy:
Develop an annual plan that includes identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding activities for approximately 120 foundations.
Place special emphasis on reporting and submission deadlines.
Research and Funding Identification:
Identify and research new funding opportunities for the Regional Food Bank.
Use the internet with prospect researcher, relationships with existing funders, and information obtained from Regional Food Bank staff and volunteers.
Grant Writing and Management:
Write and serve as the primary grant writer for all grants and proposals produced by the Regional Food Bank.
Manages grant process from identification, solicitation and reporting
Foundation Relations:
Serve as the primary contact for all grant and foundation-related questions, except for a small group of foundations that work with the CEO and Chief Advancement Officer.
Cultivate personal relationships with foundation program officers, Regional Food Bank staff, volunteers, community stakeholders and others as appropriate to solicit and submit funding requests to foundations.
Grant Application and Submission:
Submit grant requests to foundations through various methods, including letters requesting financial support, letters of inquiry, full grant proposals and formal presentations.
Provide funding request information for funding applications and reports in formats consistent with the Regional Food Bank’s policies.
Foundation Outreach and Engagement:
Conduct tours and run presentations for foundations, granting organizations and other community groups.
Coordinate foundation site visits to the Regional Food Bank, and when appropriate, include other team members.

Mission Capacity Building : Supports achievement of the region volunteer engagement goals, blood collection goals, and community engagement mission goals by identifying and stewarding specific strategic relationships in the community and serving as a connector for internal stakeholders for these activities. Leverages the board mission capacity committee, biomed committee, diversity committee, and community volunteer leaders to meet established goals. 3. Develops and manages the chapter board to effectively mobilize support and resources around the Red Cross mission. The chapter board must meet all published board guidance for board membership, committees, and member engagement in the mission (has all required committees; board engagement plan completed for all board members using template provided; board members understand board member giving expectations and personally meet board member give and solicitation expectations). 4. Develops, leads, and manages community volunteer leaders who are responsible for serving as the Face of the Red Cross in assigned territories ; supporting mission capacity building by developing key community partnerships. 5. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively identify, recruit, and guide individuals from across your region to join THL’s expanding community of supporters. Grow our network and re-energize our existing network.
Train, motivate, and retain volunteers to take on leadership roles for THL and to execute a variety of actions and events to further our campaign efforts and overall mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food.
Efficiently manage volunteer tracking tools to keep meticulous records of volunteer activity and progression within THL’s changemaker circle of engagement.
Act as the face of THL to external stakeholders (including donors identified by THL’s Development team), local media, and community groups. This includes speaking at events, in webinars, and on video conference calls.
REQUIRED SKILLS
At least 1 year of experience in grassroots or community organizing or grassroots advocacy.
Leadership: Ability and desire to effectively guide, motivate, empower, and engage various target audiences. Because the movement is composed of people from a wide range of backgrounds, a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to navigate DEI issues, is key.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess most, if not all, of the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:
Mission alignment: Must be dedicated to THL’s mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food and comfortable engaging in pressure campaigns.

The compensation range for this role is $55,931 - $66,513. At The Humane League, we believe in maintaining a fair and equitable work environment for all employees. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively identify, recruit, and guide individuals from across your region to join THL’s expanding community of supporters. Grow our network and re-energize our existing network.
Train, motivate, and retain volunteers to take on leadership roles for THL and to execute a variety of actions and events to further our campaign efforts and overall mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food.
Efficiently manage volunteer tracking tools to keep meticulous records of volunteer activity and progression within THL’s changemaker circle of engagement.
Act as the face of THL to external stakeholders (including donors identified by THL’s Development team), local media, and community groups. This includes speaking at events, in webinars, and on video conference calls.
REQUIRED SKILLS
At least 1 year of experience in grassroots or community organizing or grassroots advocacy.

What You'll Be Doing in the role of Development Manager
The Development Manager serves as an integral member of a community-based fundraising team for Susan G. Komen. This position will play a key role in the implementation of a year-round fundraising program. The Development Manager will assist in reaching the local market revenue goals.
The key fundraising program and focus of the Development Manager will be the MORE THAN PINK Walk/Race for the Cure: the signature events for Susan G. Komen. This position will also be responsible for managing other revenue generating activities for the market as decided but the market leadership.
What You Will Bring to the Table
Assist in the development and execution of year-round fundraising plan and budget to meet revenue goals for the Market.

What You'll Be Doing in the role of Development Manager
The Development Manager serves as an integral member of a community-based fundraising team for Susan G. Komen. This position will play a key role in the implementation of a year-round fundraising program. The Development Manager will assist in reaching the local market revenue goals.
The key fundraising program and focus of the Development Manager will be the MORE THAN PINK Walk/Race for the Cure: the signature events for Susan G. Komen. Education and/or Formal Training
Bachelor's Degree in nonprofit management, education, public administration or related field or equivalent of education and experience; master's degree preferred.
Experience
Minimum of three years' experience as a manager of a multi-person team.
Minimum of five years' experience in a related field such as youth development, volunteer coordination or support, teaching, program management, or fund development.
Proven curriculum development skills.
Demonstrated success with program management including outcomes evaluation and analysis.
Significant experience in the development and implementation of large-scale collaborations, and cross-functional teams.
Experience working in a regional or statewide manner.

Salary:
This position pays a salaried range of $70,000-$75,000/year, plus mileage reimbursement.

What You'll Be Doing in the role of Development Manager

Earthworks’ Federal Fossil Fuels Campaign Manager will join our growing Energy Infrastructure and Petrochemicals team works to uplift frontline community opposition to oil, gas, and petrochemical infrastructure and advance policies towards a managed decline of the fossil fuel industry. The position is responsible for advancing our federal campaign to stop oil and gas exports and keep fossil fuels in the ground, leveraging creative organizing strategies to complement our Policy team’s advocacy work.
This position works closely with Earthworks’ program staff who work to reduce risks to water, health, air and climate from oil and gas production, with our communication, digital and development departments, and will participate in, and help to facilitate, engagement with the national movement to keep fossil fuels in the ground. The ideal candidate will thrive at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced campaigning environment, advancing and empowering leadership from frontline affected communities, and maintaining solid relationships with diverse partners.
Core Responsibilities
Lead our efforts to build a powerful public pressure campaign to stop oil and gas exports, coordinating with our campaign team on the ground in frontline communities

You have sent and managed campaigns through email platforms such as MailChimp and have familiarity with website content management systems and digital management tools like Tweetdeck, Hootsuite, etc. You also are eager to dive into the analytics to monitor engagement so you can figure out how to expand our reach even more.

Compensation: SELC offers salaries competitive with other leading environmental non-profits nationally, and provides an excellent benefits package.
