Position Summary: 

The Researcher will work directly with Associate Producers and Producers to help research and assist in the production of original content for a live talk entertainment show.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Research interesting people and topics for upcoming live shows.
  • Prepare and revise multiple drafts of notes for guests of live talk entertainment show.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data for multiple production tracking systems.
  • Ability to document and take notes quickly and proficiently while participating in daily research meetings.
  • Edit and condense clips to prepare for booking presentations. 
  • Fact check and proofread material for shows and segments.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Requirements:

  • 2 years of previous experience working in a research department; preferably in a media or entertainment company
  • Needs to be proficient in writing and entertainment news.
  • Needs to have a professional demeanor.
  • Strong knowledge of various talk programming genres.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Audio Editing knowledge is preferred but not required.
