Job Description

Hourly Rate: Starting $15/hr 30-40 hours per week

Number of open positions: 2

Start Date: 14/8 ideal, flexible

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7-2:30 summer. Team members have input seasonally on preferred hours of shift for entire team.

Location: See map. RTA Bus stop is a 5 min walk.

We are a growing aluminum manufacturer seeking a Metal Fabricator.

The General Laborer/Assembler will report to the Fabrication Team Lead and the Operations Manager.

The General Laborer/Assembler is tasked with assisting the fabrication team with material handling and aluminum fabrication for beams used in the construction industry. Experience with construction, landscaping, moving, assembly, heavy lifting, or general labor would be helpful. Must be a team player!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 75%: Material Handling (working with a team to drill into aluminum beams with speed and quality, ensuring production deadlines are met)
  • 10%: Loading/Unloading Flatbed trucks
  • 5%: Assisting with running machines
  • 5%: Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment at end of shift
  • 5%: Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMAINDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to handle objects, power tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds; walking distances in an industrial setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Fabricator is recommended to wear the following personal protective equipment at all times: Gloves, Hearing protection, Steel toe boots, or other items as instructed. Closed-toe shoes are required.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to comprehend simple verbal instructions in English (we do have one Spanish speaker on the floor for translating)
  • Tape Measure and basic math skills
  • Self-starter capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify and solve problems as they arise
  • Ability to learn and use various types of machinery such as a forklift, presses, ironworkers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and lift up to 15 lbs multiple times per day

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Ability to operate forklift and/or forklift certification
