Job Description:

Donor Center Phlebotomist

The American Red Cross is seeking Full Time Phlebotomist/Medical Assistants to work collecting platelets and whole blood from blood donors in Omaha (132nd & Dodge location, and 3838 Dewey AVE location) and in Council Bluffs. This position would interact with our donors coming into the facility for plasma & platelet donations and shifts would rotate between all three locations.

Pay:  $21.00/hour

Hours: Regular FULL TIME position, working four (4) 10-hour shifts per week. Days and Start times are set depending on business need. Start times range between 5:45 AM and 10:15 AM.

  

Key performance objectives for the Platelet Phlebotomist position include:

• Balance production, donor care & quality requirements to meet daily blood collection goals.

• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand the value of their donation.

• Be detail oriented all day, every day, to ensure that the platelets you collect meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.

• Remain flexible to work a variable work schedule

• Take care of your team members – show up for every shift and give 100% while you’re there.

• Contribute to a friendly and fun environment. Team up with your co-workers to keep our donors coming back again and again.

• Be a model of professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation’s largest not-for-profit blood banking organization.

Qualifications
Customer service experience, effective verbal communication and public relations skills are required.  Previous Phlebotomy experience is required.  Basic computer skills required.
