The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Mobile SAF-IS Chapter Program Director at the Wiesbaden Chapter to support the Service to Armed Forces and International Services Division mission. This position is responsible for the Wiesbaden, Spangdahlem, Stuttgart and Benelux Military Communities. T his position is regional, but also part of our mobile staff which requires meeting strict medical and security clearances prior to employment. In this role worldwide deployment is a condition of employment. Mobile staff members typically deploy for 6 months at a time typically, approximately once every 18-24 months, and can be sent to any military base in the world. BASIC FUNCTION:

Various learning handicaps, disabilities and medical conditions requiring special attention. Behavior management strategies and techniques relating to pupils experiencing atypical control problems. Basic subjects including arithmetic, grammar, spelling and reading. Routine record keeping techniques.
ABILITY TO:
Demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups. Appropriately manage student behavior and guide students toward more acceptable social behaviors. Quickly recognize and respond to emergencies pertaining to a variety of student medical conditions. Assist students with basic personal care activities such as dressing or toileting. Utilize a variety of instructional materials and procedures to enhance a positive educational environment.
Perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment. Communicate effectively in oral and written form. Appreciate human diversity. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Comply with the District’s customer service standards, as outlined in Board policy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by courses in childcare, psychology, education and training of autistic students; and some experience working with autistic students in a structured environment preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. Mandatory participation in SAUSD staff development designed to increase skills related to the job functions of and Independence Facilitator working with students with autism. Possession of valid CPR and First Aid Certification. Pass a District proficiency test in English usage, language arts and math or have passed CBEST or have completed two years of college.
WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Classroom or special learning environment.
