Position Summary:

Producer will be responsible for all aspects involved in producing segments on Sirius XM Doctor Radio including studio/technical operations, production, guest booking, and research.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, develop and produce full-length or short form medical/health programs, and/or segments of larger programs, while maintaining the channel's creative vision.
  • Initiate show topics, collaborate ideas with show hosts, book guests and prepare interview materials including background information and interview questions.
  • Make decisions related to creative processes, content development and production.
  • Work independently on standard programs and assist with larger, complex and high profile programs.
  • Exercise a high-level of creativity and execute programming assignments with minimal oversight.
  • Oversee technical staff performing editing and running audio boards.
  • May be assigned to more than one program and perform slightly different functions across programs.
  • Promote the show, the channel and the company positively on and off the air to maximize the growth of subscribers and listeners.
  • Contribute specials and event coverage in addition to regular daily show.
  • Meet with the Program Director of the channel on a weekly basis to review and establish on-going goals for the channel.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of previous experience required. Experience can include a combination of radio or live studio production along with time spent in the medical or related field.

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Strong experience in identifying timely topics and booking experts to discuss.
  • Skillful at working with talent and high profile individuals.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid production skills with a strong working knowledge of audio equipment necessary for on-air and production execution.
  • Knowledge of Prophet.
