Job Description

Shaffer Distributing is a 92-year old, 4th generation family-owned business specializing in bringing arcade equipment, virtual reality and entertainment to facilities across the country.  We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to manage the Accounting Department for the entire operation.  

Reporting directly to the CFO, your primary responsibilities will be to manage all accounting, banking, payables and period close processes as well as managing and mentoring department staff.  We are a growing organization and you will be an integral part of the department as well as the operations of the organization.  Our team has a culture of continuous improvement and in this role, you will have a lot of autonomy, decision-making authority and true work-life balance.   You will continually be challenged with new responsibilities, learn new things and grow within our organization over time.  Our team loves coming to work every day and we want you to as well!

 

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • At least 4 years of accounting team management experience
  • Positive attitude and a team-player
  • Confident making decisions and delivering direct and honest feedback
  • Detail-oriented with strong computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, a plus
