Job Description:

Serve as part of the Cloud Integration support team by providing migrations to virtual and cloud environments, coordinating infrastructure development efforts on various classified and unclassified networks. As a member of the team, you will ensure availability of the network transport infrastructure that aides in providing data protection for information delivered across boundaries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the integration of native cloud infrastructure with IC Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and both delivery and management of customer-specific IaaS to the users. Other responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Coordinate infrastructure development efforts for migration to virtual and cloud environments.
  • Manage IT service dependencies; translate strategic initiatives into functional capabilities and corresponding IT requirements; define capability gaps; manage the technical plans for IT engineering, hardware and enterprise architecture projects
  • Ensure quality tools and technologies are delivered according to cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Provide options for interfaces between the cloud provider(s) and consumers to utilize and manage the on-demand self-service and expected elasticity with the ability to forecast accurately and take advantage of the elasticity of the cloud.
  • Provide support to integrate native cloud infrastructure with IC Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) capabilities (including contract cloud services), and the delivery and management of Government-specific IaaS to the users to provision processing, storage, networks, and other fundamental computing resources where the user is able to deploy and run mission specific software, including operating systems and applications
  • Provide analysis and troubleshooting to resolve network issues.
  • Thorough understanding of routing and switching technology necessary to provide connectivity and troubleshooting of the security network devices.
  • Coordinating infrastructure development efforts by:
    • Managing IT service dependencies.
    • Translating strategic initiatives into functional capabilities and
    • Corresponding IT requirements.
    • Defining capability gaps.
  • Managing the technical plans for IT engineering, hardware and enterprise architecture projects, assisting to ensure quality tools and technologies are delivered according to Government cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Provide options for interfaces between the cloud provider(s) and consumers to utilize and manage the on-demand self-service and expected elasticity with the ability to forecast accurately and take advantage of the elasticity of the cloud.
  • Service (IaaS) capabilities (including contract cloud services), and the delivery and management of Government-specific IaaS to users to provision processing, storage, networks, and other fundamental computing resources where the user is able to deploy and run mission specific software, including operating systems and applications.
  • Introduce changes and/or new architecture to the operational environment on both unclassified and classified networks.
  • Preparation, installation and configuration of network equipment (such as routers and switches) and related software, primarily in a Cisco-based environment.
  • May serve as backup to Lead when required

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related field (9+ years of experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 5 years' experience or subject matter expertise in network engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant information technology/telecom network experience in classified and unclassified (DoD and/or Intelligence Community environments preferred).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to solve complex system level engineering problems. 
  • Network Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCSK)
