Description

The Psychological Services program at JCFS Chicago specializes in providing high quality psychological and psychoeducational testing in addition to offering evidence-based therapy to a diverse range of clients. We also offer a highly sought after specialty clinic for families with children (ages 2-12) presenting with disruptive behavior which incorporates assessment and evidenced-based interventions. The position would also offer the opportunity to be involved in launching a specialty clinic for children and adolescents experiencing clinically significant anxiety. Psychologists also participate in our APA-accredited clinical internship program as supervisors and seminar leaders.

This is a 30 hour per week position (benefits eligible). This is a hybrid position including working remotely and in the office.

About the Position:

  • Carries a caseload of at least 8 therapy clients per week.
  • Complete 10-12 full-battery assessment per calendar year.
    • Administer, score and draft reports for psychological and psychoeducational evaluations including intellectual, cognitive, projective, achievement, adaptive functioning, personality, and social-emotional tests to Agency clients as indicated.
    • Evaluate and interpret testing material and apprises appropriate Agency staff, families, schools, and/or other professionals of test findings and implications.
  • Participates in our training program which includes our APA accredited internship as well as our diagnostic and therapy practicums.

Therapy Skills Required:

  • Ability to work with a wide range of ages and presenting problems
  • Preference for evidenced based therapy skills

  • Social Emotional Functioning

 Assessment Skills Recommended:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Neuropsychological testing (ex. NEPSY)

Additional Skills Recommended:

  • Experience with supervision and training

Program Support

  • Assist Agency staff in evaluating psychological testing material from other agencies or psychologists.
  • Supervise externs and interns within the psychology training program.
  • Serve as an instructor for clinical training seminars within Psych Services and the Agency.
  • Serve on various committees, participates in seminars and other appropriate activities as a representative of the Agency.
  • Participate in Agency-sponsored staff development programs, professional group seminars, committees or conferences to increase professional knowledge.
  • Performs related work as required or assigned.
  • Represent JCFS and its programs in a positive manner to both internal and external contacts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.
  • Current Illinois licensure as a Clinical Psychologist preferred.  Will consider unlicensed post-doctoral candidates and provide supervision hours towards licensure.
  • Experience and/or exposure to psychoeducational testing.
  • 1 or more years of clinical experience post-licensure.  Non-profit or social services experience preferred.
  • One or more years of experience supervising externs, interns, or as a clinical supervisor or similar role preferred.
  • Able to work at least one evening per week.
  • This position may require visits to locations which may or may not be readily accessible by public transportation. 

New hires would need to be fully vaccinated with 1 or 2 doses and booster and provide their card upon hire OR begin receiving the booster within 2 weeks of being hired and participate in weekly COVID testing until fully vaccinated OR provide documentation for an ADA or religious exemption and participate in weekly COVID testing.
