Weekend Individual Supports Provider/Direct Support Professional (DSP)

JCFS Chicago provides vital, individualized, results-driven, therapeutic and supportive services for thousands of children, adults and families of all backgrounds each year, facing challenges with life transitions, mental health, developmental/intellectual disability and basic human need. We have locations in Rogers Park, Skokie, Wilmette, Glencoe and Highland Park.

JCFS is looking for talented and engaging individuals to provide supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their home and community. Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm positions available in Highland Park.

$17 hourly rate with increases based on proven relatable experience.

Requirements:

• 21 years of age
  • Technological skills
  • Must be able to pass the Test of Adult Basic Education
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in the Human Services Field
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  Preferred:
  • Experience supporting individuals with Autism

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Facilitate supports focusing on personal outcomes and independence
  • Support individuals in identifying community resources
  • Facilitate social experiences
  • Promote health and safety
  • Oversee medication administration
  • Facilitate medical appointments
  • Facilitate budgeting, shopping and cooking
  • Promote a well maintained home
  • Facilitate transportation (agency vehicle or public transportation)
  • Respond to crisis effectively
  • Collaborate with service providers, community members and families
  • Complete and maintain DSP required trainings and certificates
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings

New hires would need to be fully vaccinated with 1 or 2 doses and booster and provide their card upon hire OR begin receiving the booster within 2 weeks of being hired and participate in weekly COVID testing until fully vaccinated OR provide documentation for an ADA or religious exemption and participate in weekly COVID testing.
