DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position involves international business consulting and will advise Pennsylvania businesses on export strategy, market selection, and all aspects of market entry methods.

An employee in this position will be responsible for Authorized Trade Representative (ATR) management and will manage a portfolio of ATRs based in markets worldwide. In addition, the employee will suggest, plan and organize international trade events in the assigned territory.

In this position, the employee will also be involved with Regional Export Network (REN) collaboration. The employee will work with assigned Regional Export Network (REN) partners to promote the objectives of Office of International Business Development (OIBD) and assists the REN to meet the performance goals.

In addition, an employee in this position will also be responsible for industry-specific and trade support project development. The employee will develop and manage industry-specific initiatives and internal trade support projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Economic Development Consultant 1; or
  • Four years of professional experience in economic planning and development programs, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training. 

 Additional Requirements: 

  • You must have experience working with international teams.
  • You must have knowledge of international business, international sales, trade and/or exporting..
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

 Preferred Qualifications (not required):  

  • Experience managing international teams.
  • Experience in international business, international sales, trade and/or public administration.
