The Texas Partnership for Out of School Time (TXPOST) is a statewide intermediary whose mission is to convene, educate, and advocate to improve the quality and increase the availability of out of school time (OST) opportunities for Texas youth. We are committed to fostering and facilitating strategic collaboration and public investment to grow our network to better support OST programs; drive continuous quality improvement in OST programs; and promote sustainable access to high-quality OST programs for all Texas children.

 

The Opportunity

TXPOST is in search of a Director of Programs to lead the organization’s quality improvement efforts and services expansion in and with OST programs and professionals. This individual will manage relationships with program intermediaries and direct service organizations. Additionally, the Director of Programs will apply strategic direction to existing and future professional development (PD) and technical assistance (TA) offerings as well as contribute to the necessary content development to support them, thereby enhancing the quality of supported OST programs and professionals.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

Relationship Management 

  • Build, maintain, and grow relationships with direct service organizations and program intermediaries
  • Facilitate convenings among program stakeholders for consistent reflection and iteration to enhance the quality of OST programs
  • Establish connections with appropriate partners for ongoing improvement of resources, curricula, and programming
  • Identify and activate cross-program and cross-sector collaborators to generate opportunities for integration, alignment, and partnership 

Program Management

  • Strategically guide quality improvement work, including aligning systems of quality and evaluation
  • Direct and contribute to content production for PD and TA offerings
  • Oversee program initiatives and integrate these fully with broader quality improvement and community partnership efforts that support TXPOST’s strategic goals and overall mission
  • Analyze evaluation and assessment data for all programs to measure impact and effectiveness
  • Refine implementation standards and practices for each program initiative in alignment with broader OST quality standards
  • Assist the development team in activities related to grantmaking, grant reporting, and other fund dissemination by TXPOST (identification of recipients, distribution of funds, outcome reporting) in support of programming

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute strategy for programmatic work and systems needed to support them in partnership with organizational leadership team
  • Collaborate with TXPOST’s CEO, Texas Education Agency, and other relevant stakeholders to build strategy around program design for the upcoming Rider 88 initiative
  • Develop appropriate metrics to measure/report on the TEA initiative and goals for ongoing technical assistance and professional development programming
  • Spearhead additional initiatives to support youth mental health and the strengthening of OST intermediary infrastructure in Texas
  • Employ a data-informed approach to strategy and execution, adjusting both as needed to ensure success

People Management

  • Lead and provide oversight to the Quality and Program Initiatives Manager and growing program team
  • Coach and develop staff, providing formal and informal feedback and performance management support and identifying professional growth and leadership opportunities
  • Contribute to organization-wide people and talent discussions and decisions as member of the program leadership team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 4-5 years nonprofit program-related experience that include (but are not limited to) program planning, management, and strategy development; experience in out of school time, afterschool, summer, or youth development programming required; experience in STEM, service learning, and/or youth entrepreneurship preferred
  • A deep commitment to TXPOST’s mission of convening, educating, and advocating to improve the quality and increase the availability of out of school time (OST) opportunities for Texas youth
  • A demonstrated ability to balance big picture strategy with thoughtful implementation; a proven record of achieving program goals through strong planning and implementation skills
  • A commitment to a "whole child" approach and a desire to change existing systems by leaning into a holistic approach that centers youth and their families
  • Strong understanding of and familiarity with continuous quality improvement systems, standards, tools, assessments, and evaluation in the OST space, including oversight for both licensed and license-exempt programs and frameworks
  • Knowledge of adult learning and professional development best practices
  • Experience establishing and maintaining positive interpersonal relations with OST program stakeholders, external partners, and colleagues
  • Texas Rising Star training credentials strongly preferred

 

Compensation

This is a full-time position. The salary range is $72,000–85,000 per year based on qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for TXPOST’s 403(b) retirement plan, HRA reimbursement of up to $250/ month, and paid time off benefits.
