The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a licensed Registered Nurse to serve as Nursing Supervisor at the Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center in Waukegan Illinois. This energetic and detail-oriented person will supervise staff, ensuring twenty-four-hour supervisory coverage, directing staff on individuals’ needs and the implementation of treatment plans and reviewing nursing assessments and nursing care plans for completeness, accuracy and appropriateness of plans. The Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center strives to provide equitable access to social/human services, supports, programs and resources to enhance the lives of all who we serve.

 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Serves as Nursing Supervisor for the Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center on an assigned unit and shift.
  2. Serves as a full-line supervisor.
  3. Oversees the unit medical program.
  4. Attends and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team at meetings and drills such as in cases of chest pain, choking, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), head injury, seizure, etc.
  5. Develops training curriculum and test questionnaires.
  6. As part of a team, reviews, updates and implements nursing policies and procedures according to the latest trends and nursing standards.
  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
  2. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in nursing.
  3. Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience in a public or business organization.

 

Conditions of Employment

  1. Requires the ability to serve on-call, after business hours, weekends and holidays on a rotation basis as Administrator on Duty (AOD). 
  2. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
  3. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  4. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
