Job Summary
The Development Coordinator provides the highest level of administrative support to ensure the smooth execution of all activities for the Major Gifts department of the HGSE Development Office at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). This position is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to ensure smooth daily operations, effective administration and clear communications. Serves as a key administrative contact and liaison for external and internal constituencies including alumni, donors, and faculty and development colleagues. Works independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment of multiple and changing priorities, anticipates and resolves problems.
Position Description
Basic Qualifications
Minimum three years of experience in a related, office environment. Proficient working with MS office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work occasional overtime is required.

Additional Qualifications and Skills
BA/BS degree strongly preferred. Excellent organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple assignments from multiple sources, be efficient, organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet project deadlines. Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, and the ability to comprehend and summarize detailed research reports and press articles to create comprehensive briefings. She or he will convey the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to higher education. The ideal candidate will be professional, enthusiastic, collaborative, motivated to learn, flexible, reliable, self-motivated and will be able to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and experiences. She or he will demonstrate an interest in HGSE's mission and institutional priorities. Additionally, the candidate will possess strong computer skills, will have experience with a range of web-based resources, and will work with the capacity to master new software applications and technologies.
