Sr. Rotorcraft Maintenance Technician

Location: Huntsville, Alabama

Position Status: Full Time

Work Schedule: Regular hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30 am - 4:30 pm or as adjusted for operational commitments.

Brief Job Description:

Perform inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with manufactures maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations. Ensures all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals to include specific chapters

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, repairs, and alterations of company operated and customer aircraft.
• Tests and inspects airframe, fuel, hydraulic systems, flight controls, powerplant and rotor systems.
• Repairs and/or modifies airframe components, powerplant, flight controls, powerplant and rotor systems and other electrical systems components and accessories to manufacturer's specifications.
• Uses all mandated safety equipment and complies with all safety requirements in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines.
• Completes all checklists, forms and reports as required in accordance with the company, government and FAA regulations and guidelines.
• Participates in on-the-job training with onsite personnel.
• Maintains adequate knowledge to understand and follow the repair facility's inspection procedures manual.
• Exhibits positive, courteous behavior with customers, businesses and co-workers.
• Assists co-workers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.

Education and Experience:

• Airframe & Powerplant License. Formal training from either an accredited training academy (FAA Part 147) or Military equivalent training. Document work history can be substituted for formalized training. Minimum eight (8) years' experience working in a Part 145 performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities. (Required)
• Two-year degree or certificate from an accredited two-year college, university or technical school in aviation maintenance or a related field OR equivalent military training AND ten years of directly related experience supporting Part 27 & 29 Rotorcraft Maintenance Operations. (Preferred)

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who possess formalized training as follows:

• Airframe manufacturers such as Bell (206/407/412), Leonardo Helicopter (AW-109/139/169), MDHI (500/600 Series)
• Powerplant maintenance such as P&WC (PT-6T) Rolls Royce (RR250 series)
• Inspection Authorization Endorsement

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Travel: From time-to-time travel will be required in support of Axxeum's customer base. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position reports to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) and the Accountable Manager.

Salary Range: Negotiable based upon experience
