Job Description
The incumbent of this position serves as the Senior Emergency Management Specialist (EMS) under the direction of the Chief, Programs Operations Division, (TSO-22), The incumbent supports the implementation of internal, agency-wide emergency preparedness, response and recovery planning including coordination of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Emergency Response Team (ERT) and management of the FTA Continuity of Operations (COOP) program.
As a Senior Emergency Management Specialist, you will:
- Provide emergency management and safety guidelines to the transit industry to support the highest practicable level of safe management and operational practices in public transit.
- Serve as the Senior Emergency Coordinator, Physical Security Coordinator, and a member of the Secretary of Transportation’s Emergency Response Team.
- Manage the administration and promulgation of emergency management and safety guidance; coordination and engagement in the Office of the Secretary/departmental safety and intelligence matters; and implementation of National Response Program policies and procedures for FTA
The Ideal Candidate is a senior-level professional with strong leadership skills to execute and manage an agency's Federal continuity of operations, emergency management, and national response programs.
