As a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, you will provide the proper settling, biological oxidation, digestion and disinfection of the center's wastewater and sludge by reading meters and gauges. You will also operate the skimmers, scum breaker, sludge pump, filters, digester, and chlorinator. You will conduct laboratory monitoring and record keeping to produce a wastewater effluent sufficient to meet requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit issued by the Department of Environmental Resources.
