WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview)Handle customer telephone orders, maintain inventories and coordinate transportation for reagents, supplies, equipment, and products. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.

 

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities)

·        Receive customer calls, including orders for antigen negative blood products, and refer, if applicable, to appropriate personnel.

·        Operate, maintain, and may perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment.   

·        Perform requesting/ordering, receiving, inspection and storage of IRL supplies and reagents. Ensure adequate inventory of required supplies.

·        May perform manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable.

·        May perform inventory management, coordination and shipment duties associated with donor products.

·        May perform labeling and verification of blood products.

·        Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records.

·        Perform duties associated with receipt, coordination, shipment and transport of patient and donor blood samples.

·        Monitor temperatures of blood products and donor/patient samples, if applicable. 

·        May perform antigen typing duties under direct supervision, as applicable.

·        Adhere to procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMP).

·        May perform red cell antigen typing under direct supervision, if applicable.

·        Perform other related duties as required.

·                      Standard Schedule: Variable Shift

             Pay Information: $25.50/hr - $42/hr

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of laboratory experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Associate degree (AS) or higher preferred. Computer experience and familiarity with office automation (e.g., MS Word) desired. Good communication skills in both oral and written English required.

 

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):  MLT (ASCP), Experience working in a reference lab, experience working in blood bank.
