Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years of responsible and advanced administrative support experience emphasizing multi- tasking and excellent technical experience. Experience in tracking and responding to public records requests is preferred. Working Conditions
Anticipated work schedule is onsite at the Hawkeye Community College main campus
Fall and Spring terms: Monday – Thursday 2pm – 8p & Sunday 12pm – 4pm unless the college is closed.
Summer term: Varies based on need, however a typical shift is Monday – Friday 11:30am – 4:30pm
Work is performed either in or a combination of an office setting, classroom setting using technology. Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Sit, stand, bend, lift and move frequently during working hours. During course of day, interact with students, faculty, staff and the public in person, by telephone and/or computers.
Employment Status
Regular, part-time, hourly evening position averaging 28 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 25 hours per week during the summer term.
This position offers a choice of retirement programs – IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution) which is available up on hire. Employees working an average of 20 hours or more per week for one-year, may be eligible for additional benefits including but not limited to: Single dental and vision insurance, Flex Plus (IRS 125) plan and paid time off.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience.

Anticipated work schedule is onsite at the Hawkeye Community College main campus

Work is performed either in or a combination of an office setting, classroom setting using technology. Job Summary
Hawkeye Community College’s Athletics program is looking for a part-time Assistant Softball Coach to join their team.
The Assistant Softball Coach assists with the supervision and coaching of practices and competitions for the softball program. This position will aid in recruiting student athletes, directing practices, managing practice and travel schedules, as well as, supervising team conduct during competition, travel, tournaments, and other events where the team is represented. Furthermore, this position participates in the planning, organizing, and execution of preseason and season practices in addition to fostering a positive team atmosphere and supporting student athletes’ academic progress, retention, and graduation through mentoring activities and guidance to appropriate support services. Due to the nature of the work involved in coaching; many weeks will entail morning, evening, and weekend hours. In 2015, Hawkeye Community College launched its first ever intercollegiate sport program and has since accumulated 15 athletic programs to include: sports shooting, men & women’s soccer, men and women’s cross country, men & women’s track and field, men & women’s golf, women's volleyball, esports, competitive dance, women’s softball, men & women’s bowling and men & women’s wrestling (new in 2024). Job Summary
Hawkeye Community College’s Athletics program is looking for a part-time Assistant Volleyball Coach to join their team.
The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists with the supervision and coaching of practices and competitions for the women’s volleyball program. This position will aid in recruiting student athletes, directing practices, managing practice and travel schedules, as well as, supervising team conduct during competition, travel, tournaments, and other events where the team is represented. Furthermore, this position participates in the planning, organizing, and execution of preseason and season practices in addition to fostering a positive team atmosphere and supporting student athletes’ academic progress, retention, and graduation through mentoring activities and guidance to appropriate support services. Due to the nature of the work involved in coaching; many weeks will entail morning, evening, and weekend hours. Needs of the department vary and the percent of time devoted to each part of the job will be governed by seasonal and immediate needs of the department.
In 2015, Hawkeye Community College launched its first ever intercollegiate sport program and has since accumulated 17 athletic programs to include: sports shooting, men & women’s soccer, men and women’s cross country, men & women’s track and field, men & women’s golf, women's volleyball, esports, competitive dance, women’s softball, men & women’s bowling, and men & women’s wrestling.
