Position Title : Development Director

We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Development Director to implement our development plan. This is a key role in helping to grow the organization. Essential Functions: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Development Director (DD) will provide strategic leadership for the planning, implementation, evaluation, integration, and administration development department. The DD will lead a team of development professionals in achieving the organization’s revenue goals, increasing income, and educating and engaging more individuals and institutions in the to advance the organization’s mission. The DD will be part of a skilled team of professionals working to raise at least $5 million annually. The DD manages a multi-faceted fundraising program; central to this role will be prioritizing personal solicitation of major donors, events, online and direct marketing, and foundation fundraising.
Duties:
Work closely with the Development Team to establish fundraising goals, set strategic priorities, advise on program development, and develop and meet annual budget
Manage and build a growing team of development professionals, provide on-going guidance, direction, and motivation, hire team members and provide oversight to consultants as needed, delegate appropriately and ensure strong internal communication and coordination, and evaluate performance and provide opportunities for personal and professional growth
Work closely with the Boards of Directors to engage them more deeply in the fundraising process and to help cultivate a strong relationship between board members and the organization
Help track cultivation and prospecting activity and ensure the execution of action items
Solicit contributions from major individual donors and steward long-term relationships with donors
Develop relationships with prospective individual and foundation donors to increase funding
Research prospective institutional and individual funders
Work with internal partners to draft and edit proposals and reports
Track proposal and reporting deadlines, ensure that all submitted materials are accurate and comply with any funder requirements
Manage all grant activity in a central database and deliver regular reports to the Executive Director
Serve as the point person for management and maintenance of funders database and ensure efficient system utilization across all units
Oversee the implementation of ongoing programs to improve the renewal rates of existing annual donors, creatively use events to upgrade donors and maintain a diversity of revenue
Work with the VP of Operations to develop annual budgets and income projections
Stay abreast of political and philanthropic trends and ensure that Board and staff are informed of changes in legislation and other trends and initiatives that might impact giving
Competencies:

Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000/year

Job Summary
Clark County Public Works is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Engineering & Design Section, one of a handful of groups that make up its Engineering & Construction Division. The 10-person Engineering and Design Section has the tight-knit feel of a small firm with access to the expertise and resources of the larger Clark County Public Works organization. The team is production oriented with a focus on design and plan production to support the County’s Capital Improvement Programs. Engineering and Design Section engineers design county infrastructure and have opportunities for career development through planning, project development, project management, emergency response assistance and other interesting and challenging work. This position will be primarily focused on civil roadway and stormwater design with opportunities for stormwater modeling, specification, and standards development. This is a professional level engineering position for the Department of Public Works. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
B.S. degree in Civil or related Engineering and two (2) years of experience in an Engineer II or equivalent position and registration as a professional civil or structural engineer.

An infant teacher is responsible for the supervision, responsive care, education and classroom management of a group of young children enrolled in the ELC. The teacher develops and maintains respectful and nurturing relationships and works collaboratively with parents, staff, and volunteers. As an infant teacher, you will work within a team to support children across all developmental domains by engaging in curriculum planning and implementation, and classroom management strategies, to meet each child's individual needs. Recruits’ student-athletes for the Wrestling program.
Collaborates with the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Services for recruiting and enrolling prospective student-athletes.
Assists in the administrative operations of the Wrestling program to include scheduling, team travel, etc.
Assists in monitoring and nurturing student-athletes’ academic progress toward graduation at the college and placement at four-year colleges and universities.
Promotes positive public relations for the Wrestling team.
Provides first aid in emergency situations and complete annual blood borne pathogen training and CPR certification.
Performs set-up, tear-downs, and storage of equipment.
Enforces and maintains all safety policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Wrestling Coach or administration.
Unless otherwise approved under Hawkeye’s remote work policy, regular on campus and/or onsite attendance is considered an essential function of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years coaching and/or competing.
CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
Strong commitment to high ethical standards and integrity.
Must possess a current driver’s license valid in the State of Iowa and a driving record insurable by the College’s insurer. Must be able to obtain additional endorsements as needed.
Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours to include evening and weekend hours.

Hawkeye Community College’s Athletics program is looking for a part-time Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach to join their team.
The Assistant Soccer Coach assists with the supervision and coaching of practices and competitions for the women’s soccer program. Purpose Reporting to the Head of Printed & Published Media and Metadata Services, the Manager for Bibliographic Description serves as the lead cataloger of the unit, engaging in original and complex copy cataloging of modern and early printed books, manuscripts, serials, maps, visual materials, and other special formats; as well as activities geared to assure quality control, maintenance and remediation of the library catalog.
In consultation with the unit head, the Manager for Bibliographic Description establishes and monitors departmental workflows related to new acquisitions cataloging and serials receiving, and takes the lead in developing policies and procedures to ensure efficient, accurate, and effective cataloging of rare books and special formats. This position supervises a library assistant and has an essential role in serving as primary contact for public services staff on issues related to bibliographic descriptions, and maintaining the cataloging manual in the department wiki. Depending on ongoing projects, the Manager for Bibliographic Description might also hire, supervise and provide ongoing training of student assistant(s) and interns.

Responsibilities
Position mission statement:
As Wild Animal Initiative’s first Major Gifts Officer, you will lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives to nurture current donors, identify prospective major donors, foster relationships, and drive fundraising efforts. You will join a growing Development team and be our first staff member dedicated to personally cultivating relationships with new and current donors to solicit the gifts that make our work possible.
You will use a donor-centric and moves-management approach to set a major gifts strategy and meet annual and long-term fundraising goals. This means that you will focus on perceiving our donors' needs, interests, and motivations and strategically guide them through various stages of engagement and solicitation. The ultimate goal is to increase funding by carefully nurturing connections and aligning donor interests with the goals of Wild Animal Initiative (WAI).
You will develop and implement strategies that foster strong donor relations and ensure that our supporters feel valued, engaged, and connected to what we're doing. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Wild Animal Initiative departments, using your communication skills to cultivate partnerships and drive support.

Donor discovery and research
Prospect research: Gather data on potential donors and various donor communities. Identify their interests, financial capacity, access, and giving history, and identify how best to ask for support from these prospects.
Data management and engagement coordination: Efficiently manage donor data, including contact information, donor meeting notes, and relevant details. Assign follow-up steps and ownership to yourself or other staff as necessary.
Strategic engagement: Proactively seek out and maintain up-to-date knowledge of Wild Animal Welfare (WAW) developments by engaging with key contacts (donors, researchers, influencers) to gather insights, understand trends, and identify emerging players in the field to inform decision-making, foster collaboration, and contribute to WAI's strategic objectives.
Relationship cultivation
Donor relationship building: Cultivate meaningful connections with potential donors, fostering trust and engagement in alignment with organizational values. Engage with and build relationships with donors within a remote framework and travel to meet with donors in person as necessary.
Strategic donor engagement: Own the development and implementation of major donor and planned giving engagement strategies. Proactively manage and grow a robust portfolio of prospective and existing major donors to solidify relationships and maximize giving potential.
Coordination and delegation: Work with the Executive Director, Development Director, and others to coordinate engagement efforts to ensure a seamless and personalized donor experience. Efficiently schedule, prepare for, and facilitate donor meetings.
Coaching: Provide necessary coaching to colleagues, enhancing confidence for successful donor interactions, strengthening relationships, and advancing WAI’s fundraising goals.
Gift acquisition and acknowledgment
Strategic fundraising solicitation: Execute targeted fundraising solicitations through persuasive conversations and the ability to contextualize WAI’s programmatic achievements and organizational goals, focusing on securing gifts of $5,000 and above to drive organizational growth and impact.
Donor alignment : Develop pitch decks and cases for support that resonate with various donors and donor communities, enhancing donor engagement and satisfaction.
Major gift fundraising: Secure five- and six-figure gifts from existing and new donors. Independently develop strategies that drive increased contributions and long-term support for organizational initiatives.
Prospect engagement strategy: Develop self-directed and tailored approaches to engaging high-impact donors, utilizing major gifts, planned giving, and event-based methods as appropriate.
Gratitude and acknowledgment management: Express gratitude to donors through thoughtful and personalized communications, ensuring donors feel valued and appreciated for their gifts. Manage appropriate delegation of this task to designated staff, such as the Development Director, the Executive Director, or Board members.

Utilizes this knowledge within area(s) of expertise and provides highly technical advice and assistance to subordinates, other sections, County officials and staff.

Manages major project(s) with broad public impact or highly controversial with the public/outside agencies or manages multiple projects that require a high level of proficiency within area(s) of expertise. Projects managed may or may not require management of grants or funds.
Recommends Department policy within area(s) of expertise.
Communicates both verbally and in writing highly complex planning issues in a professional and concise manner that is easily understood by all interested parties, i.e. peers, Board of County Commissioners, neighborhood associations, general public, etc. Able to maintain this level of communication and maintain composure i.e. not take criticism personally, in a variety of controversial and emotionally charged situations.
Develops and maintains effective relations with the public. Represents Community Development on various committees; at neighborhood organization and community meetings; public hearings; before governmental bodies and in legal process.
Prepares complex technical planning and administrative reports, special studies; conducts assessments; prepares inventories and statistical information necessary for future planning; develops critical correspondence an comprehensive reports in support of planning projects and decisions.
Prepares graphic presentations and comprehensive reports on community characteristics relative to zoning problems.
Participates in securing Federal and State grants.
Prepares recommendations relative to departmental policy; assists supervisor in reviewing planning studies completed by other staff members and provides guidance and assistance to less experienced staff members.
Prepares and completes reports in response to local, State and Federal requirements.
Plans special projects; researches, develops, designs and writes proposals; prepares and implements "proposals" and/or "bid" processes.
Participates in Citizen Task Force and public meetings; participates in defining project goals and objectives, implementing strategies and/or alternatives, and formulation of priorities for development of projects within own area of expertise.
Evaluates program accomplishments against established goals and timetables and makes recommendations based upon evaluation, concerning future plans.
Responds orally or in writing to inquiries of a routine to highly complex nature concerning land use codes.
May plan, schedule, assign and supervise the work of subordinate Planners, trainees and clerical personnel.

Provide overall technical and administrative support for our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, EveryAction, public relations and social media for the Marketing & Communications department.
Execute data loads into our CRM from third party sources, including but not limited to, rescue hotline, Eventbrite, and Facebook.
Facilitate engagement form creation and reporting.
Ensure our CRM system remains up to date and processes run smoothly by continually reviewing processes and updating accordingly.
Create and send non-automated marketing emails and Short Message Services (SMS) and respond to SMS messages.
Monitor public relations media inbox and respond to requests for interviews, information, photos, and videos.
Coordinate public relations media interviews and send follow-ups after interviews.
Monitor comments on all social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X(Twitter)) and respond or flag as needed and respond to social media channel inbox messages.
Create content for social media channels including, but not limited to, writing posts and finding photos/videos.
Website Content: 20%
Manage website content update process and collaborate with internal content submitters to ensure all content is ready for publication.
Edit, create, and post website content as requested which includes, but is not limited to:
Adding news content such as web stories and press releases.
Update content such as programmatic or language updates.
Daily patient imports from the Center’s electronic animal records database system (Ruby).
Weekly patient photo updates.
Update staff biographies and job postings as requested.
Post new publications and online learning resources as requested.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactic implementation including updating content, redirects, etc.
Photography Management: 10%
Respond to photo requests.
Manage and schedule volunteer photographers, including assignments such as patient photographers, event photographers, release photographers, and photo archivist.
