Responsible for working closely with both the IT and business organizations throughout the company to gather requirements, assist in the definition of scope and objectives for IT development projects and assist with user acceptance testing and training. Responsible for assisting other analysts in the group: on-boarding, techniques, skill assessment.

Performs job duties consistent within safety, legal, and regulatory requirements; company standards, culture and business practices. Acts with the highest level of business and personal ethical standards in all aspects of job performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Elicit and document business requirements for one or more concurrent application delivery projects using the appropriate method (Use Cases, User Stories, requirements matrix, screen mockups, report mockups, etc.) following an iterative-prototyping methodology
  • Create & manage departmental policies around all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle requiring touch points with the business units
  • Serve as the Liaison between the business analyst group and the IT Governance board
  • Serve as a second tier of escalation between the business analyst group and IT
  • Coordinate with application development teams to identify gaps between existing applications and project business requirements
  • Supervise other Business Solutions Analysts
  • Create workflows which illustrate business processes
  • Provide feedback to be used in employee evaluations
  • Identify impacts on other systems from business requirements – work closely with IT Operations as well as the business teams
  • Work with the appropriate business owners/users to understand and prioritize the client requirements
  • Provide ongoing interpretation and clarification of requirements to the IT development team. Work closely with IT on customization and configuration. Facilitate discussions between business users and developers to ensure ongoing alignment and issue resolution
  • Assist the QA team in developing test cases from the requirements documentation
  • Work with the business team in managing UAT issues and their resolution
  • Continue to develop/enhance organizational processes and procedures

Additional Duties:

Contributes to departmental activities and programs by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Incumbent must have five years’ experience with gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • 5+ years’ experience working within a well-articulated Software Development Lifecycle Framework
  • Wireframe Experience (for UI or Functionality Purposes)
  • Experience in system or user testing a plus
  • Strong skills in use case diagramming or creation (UML diagramming a plus)
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously a must.
  • Strong verbal and written skills required.
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Architecture and SOA a plus
  • Knowledge of the telecom industry and business processes a plus

Required Education & Experience:

In order to accomplish the essential duties of this position, the incumbent must four year degree plus five years’ experience in requirement meeting facilitations and document writing. Must be well versed in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as well as an understanding as to how business requirements can translate into software applications.

Experience with Siebel, MetaSolv, GESW, or Kenan preferred. Oracle experience preferred.
