As a part of the Preservation & Digital Stewardship unit, this position provides management and oversight of the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) and affiliated public-facing discovery interfaces for UT Libraries, including policy and workflow development, training, and metadata support.
Responsibilities
Provide digital asset management project support and training
Provide consultation in support of UT Libraries’ digital projects.
Train staff in digital asset management tasks in alignment with DAMS/Collections Portal protocols.
Collaborate to develop, document, and communicate UTL best practices for creating, managing, and reusing DAMS/Collections Portal assets.
Facilitate batch processing of digital assets.
Collaborate with staff across the Libraries to support ingest of legacy digital collections into the DAMS.
Develop the DAMS/Collections Portal ecosystem
As Product Owner, work closely with DevOps on bug fixes, maintenance, feature enhancements, and migration to strategically develop the DAMS/Collections Portal software ecosystem.
Contribute to outreach and promotion efforts.
Serve as a liaison to professional communities for digital asset management and digital asset management software.
Develop and implement DAMS/Collections Portal policies and workflows

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in library science or equivalent. A degree in a relevant field or a combination of education plus experience in a field with transferable skills may be substituted as appropriate.
Experience working with digital assets of different media types and in various data formats.
Knowledge of digital asset management software to store and manage digitized content.
Knowledge of different kinds and formats of metadata for describing digital assets.
Knowledge of relevant technologies, software, and standards used in digital archiving, digital collections management, digitization, and digital preservation.
Demonstrated ability to develop written project documentation, process procedures, and reports.
Willingness to take on new challenges with a creative approach to problem-solving.

As a part of the Preservation & Digital Stewardship unit, this position provides management and oversight of the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) and affiliated public-facing discovery interfaces for UT Libraries, including policy and workflow development, training, and metadata support.
Responsibilities
Provide digital asset management project support and training
Provide consultation in support of UT Libraries’ digital projects.
Train staff in digital asset management tasks in alignment with DAMS/Collections Portal protocols.
Collaborate to develop, document, and communicate UTL best practices for creating, managing, and reusing DAMS/Collections Portal assets.
Facilitate batch processing of digital assets.
Collaborate with staff across the Libraries to support ingest of legacy digital collections into the DAMS.
Develop the DAMS/Collections Portal ecosystem
As Product Owner, work closely with DevOps on bug fixes, maintenance, feature enhancements, and migration to strategically develop the DAMS/Collections Portal software ecosystem.
Contribute to outreach and promotion efforts.
Serve as a liaison to professional communities for digital asset management and digital asset management software.
Develop and implement DAMS/Collections Portal policies and workflows
Establish workflows for ingest, description, and publication of UT Libraries’ digital assets across varied stakeholder groups.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in library science or equivalent. A degree in a relevant field or a combination of education plus experience in a field with transferable skills may be substituted as appropriate.
Experience working with digital assets of different media types and in various data formats.
Knowledge of digital asset management software to store and manage digitized content.
Knowledge of different kinds and formats of metadata for describing digital assets.
Knowledge of relevant technologies, software, and standards used in digital archiving, digital collections management, digitization, and digital preservation.
Demonstrated ability to develop written project documentation, process procedures, and reports.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Two years of experience in the criminal justice system involving direct contact with offenders.
One year of experience in landscaping, construction or other physically demanding outdoor work.
Equivalent to two years of post-secondary education or training in Criminal Justice or a related field.
Must possess or have the ability to acquire a motor vehicle operator's license and have evidence of a safe driving record.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities will be considered

Education and Experience:

Key Accountabilities
Prepare for, equip, assist, and/or lead safe recreational events (i.e. canoe and pontoon boat trips), highlighting the Anacostia Watershed Society’s work and interpreting wildlife and history along the river.
Prepare for, equip, support, and/or attend volunteer restoration events (i.e. plantings, trash cleanups, mussel monitoring, tree maintenance and watering, and field assessment).
Assist with the coordination, implementation, and safe use of equipment and tools, and nursery and landscaping tasks in support of initiatives.
Participate in other special projects, organization-wide efforts, and tasks as assigned.
Key Requirements
Demonstrated career Interest and/or experience in community engagement, enthusiastic for and comfortable in the outdoors, and demonstrated knowledge, commitment, and passion for environmental sustainability.
Skilled boat operator desired. Boating and paddling experience strongly preferred and a plus. Comfort on the water and in the field required.

Required Qualifications and Experiences
Demonstrated passion for environmental justice coupled with a commitment to clean waterways being a human right, with relevant experience in community environmental learning, land management, or recreation.
Additional experience and/or education in boat/vehicle maintenance and operations, natural resource management, environmental science, parks and recreation, or other environmental/conservation field is a plus, but not a requirement.
Experience in project logistical support and working with staff and engaging community volunteers is deeply valuable.
Experience engaging children/youth and/or adults with experiential learning, and/or community outreach and engagement is a plus.
Medium to heavy lifting (such as canoes, kayaks, landscaping material, Shad and Mussel hatcheries, etc.).

The Clark County Geographic Information Services (GIS) division has a current opening for a GIS Technician. The position may be filled at the GIS Technician II or GIS Technician III level, depending on the qualifications and experience level of the candidate selected. The GIS Technician is responsible for the production and maintenance of Clark County’s GIS data, map products, and web mapping applications. Job Summary
The Clark County Geographic Information Services (GIS) division has a current opening for a GIS Technician. The position may be filled at the GIS Technician II or GIS Technician III level, depending on the qualifications and experience level of the candidate selected. The GIS Technician is responsible for the production and maintenance of Clark County’s GIS data, map products, and web mapping applications. The successful candidate will also be responsible for responding to internal and external customer inquiries for GIS products, services, or technical support. Technical proficiency, creativity, productivity, and strong collaboration and task management skills are key traits for success in this role. This position reports directly to the GIS Manager. The GIS Technician will work alongside other GIS staff to plan and carry out work independently. Everyone is expected to work together to successfully complete projects and tasks in accordance with instructions, policies, and established best practices. Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education and Experience:
GIS Technician II:
Education equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college with major course work in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, landscape architecture, engineering, surveying or related disciplines.
Two years of experience in the application of Esri GIS software.
GIS Technician III:
Education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major course work in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, landscape architecture, engineering, surveying or related disciplines.
Two years of experience in the application of Esri GIS software.
One year of experience in developing and maintaining Python scripts to automate GIS data editing, analysis, and/or map production.
College degrees must have been conferred by an institution of higher education and have National Recognition of Accrediting Agencies by the U.S. Secretary of Education; official transcripts may be required at the time of hire.
Knowledge of:
Esri GIS software and computer mapping techniques; principles of GIS, mapping, and cartography; scripting and process automation; techniques of data maintenance and quality control; mathematics, statistics, and spatial data analysis.
Ability to:
Operate and use various computers and computer-aided devices such as PC's, digitizers and plotters; define programming sequencing necessary to produce maps; distinguish gradations of color; understand and respond to mapping requests from the public; read, understand and work with a variety of mapping data; establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public; work independently or as part of a team (which includes working with a diverse group of stakeholders such as elected officials, planners, field technicians, utilities, other government agencies, and citizens).

Examples of Duties
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Tasks related to the production and maintenance of GIS data within Clark County's enterprise GIS.
Production and maintenance of GIS-based map products, reports, and web mapping applications using Esri GIS software.
Production and maintenance of Python scripts that automate data maintenance, map production, and spatial analysis.
Responding to internal and external customer inquiries for GIS products, services, or technical support.
Other responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Assisting County staff and the public with requests for GIS data and map products.
Importing GIS data from authoritative sources, digitize mapping information, and interpret detailed plans to update, maintain, and verify the accuracy of County’s GIS data and map products.
Developing and maintaining metadata, documentation, and user guides for GIS data and applications.
Performing spatial analysis and data manipulation to generate maps and reports.
Troubleshooting and resolving GIS-related problems and customer requests.
Training other County staff on how to use Esri GIS software and Clark County GIS solutions.
Collaborating with other GIS staff on project work as needed.
Assisting with the installation and testing of enterprise GIS-related software.
Performing other related duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$25.73 - $37.78- per hour
