Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana

This position is currently needed through the end of the school year (June 2024), has full benefits offered (below) and the starting salary range is $45K. Preferred candidates for this position are bilingual in both English and Spanish.
The Family Empowerment Coach serves as a member of the Student Services team at the Indianapolis Metropolitan High School and will be a member of a school community with an educational model that complements the acclaimed barrier removal work Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana does at The Excel Centers, Nurse-Family Partnership, and other award-winning programs. The coach helps students achieve their academic and post-secondary goals by providing ongoing advising, support, and resource connections to the student, family, and other supportive adults around the student. Each coach is responsible for a caseload, typically ranging from 65–90 students in grades 9-12 in a “best fit” environment for teenagers with significant barriers to education. The coach builds relationships with students and families and provides resources to connect to opportunities and remove barriers to the student's educational progress. Effective coaches understand how to triage their caseloads by managing their core responsibilities while also being responsive to student and family crises as they arise. Example Duties and Activities
Meets with students to set goals, creates action plans, connect to resources, and ensure all is met within a provided timeline. Utilizes coaching strategies to build rapport with students to influence decision-making.
Attends all team, student, family, and professional meetings to advocate on behalf of students.
Engages actively with students’ families and support networks through all means necessary, including home visits. Monitors attendance and intervenes when students are absent.
Tracks, maintains, and reviews accurate, compliant student data related to academic progress. Monitors student progress and adjusts plans based on ongoing data review.

Partners with colleagues to refer and connect students to wraparound supports including internal and community resources, Social-Emotional Learning, Special Education, and more.

Results from the survey may be used to help direct FWS resources for the betterment of the visiting public and protection of wildlife resources.
Primary duties for this position will include:
Participating in pre-sampling visitor recruitment training in Fort Collins, CO.
Continuous travel to national wildlife refuges across the country, spending ~2 weeks at each refuge.
Approaching visitors following survey protocols to collect a target number of visitor contact names and addresses per refuge.
Participating in check-in calls with the National Visitor Survey Coordinator to report progress and discuss obstacles for completing tasks.

The Housing Navigation Manager is a member of AFC's Housing department and reports to the Director, Systems Change. The Housing Navigation Manager will provide support and management of AFC's Housing Navigation Program. This is a HUD Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) Housing Information Services funded program through Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and under the Resource Coordination Hub portfolio of HIV services funding. The Housing Navigation Program provides individuals and families living with HIV with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve and maintain long-term, stable housing.
The Housing Navigation Manager will ensure compliance with data collection requirements outlined by CDPH, HUD, and those required at AFC. The Housing Navigation Manager is a member of AFC's Housing department and reports to the Director, Systems Change. The Housing Navigation Manager will provide support and management of AFC's Housing Navigation Program. This is a HUD Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) Housing Information Services funded program through Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and under the Resource Coordination Hub portfolio of HIV services funding. The Housing Navigation Program provides individuals and families living with HIV with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve and maintain long-term, stable housing.
The Housing Navigation Manager will ensure compliance with data collection requirements outlined by CDPH, HUD, and those required at AFC. This position will also provide direct supervision to the Housing Navigator at AFC. Position Summary: The Bilingual Administrative Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily site operations at HRM’s Highlandtown office site, a site that conducts business in both English and Spanish. The Administrative Coordinator is the first contact the public has with House of Ruth Maryland at the Highlandtown office and is responsible for setting a helpful, welcoming, and informed tone for visitors. Many of the individuals seeking services at the Highlandtown office have experienced multiple traumas. In addition to intimate partner/ sexual violence (IPSV), many have also experienced violence during the immigration process, violence in their home country, and community based violence that includes discrimination and hate crimes. These complex traumatic events shape how survivors interact with the people around them, and the Administrative Coordinator must be comfortable engaging traumatized people, who may present for assistance in a variety of emotional states and not always be clear about what they are seeking from us. The Administrative Coordinator engages visitors with sensitivity, with safety in mind, and assists visitors in getting to the right person to address their needs in an efficient and confidential manner. The Administrative Coordinator is also primarily responsible for the ensuring the day to day operations of the Highlandtown office site run smoothly, coordinating schedules for coverage, site and community events; managing the use of spaces on site; interacting with vendors; and managing the food pantry logistics. Please note that this position is posted in multiple locations. We are hiring two YCA's who will be working with stakeholders and clients in Washoe County, Nevada. What You Will Be Doing
In this position, you will be focusing your efforts on finding permanent homes for youth, especially those hardest to place, in the foster care system. It begins with learning about the youth on your case load, thoroughly reviewing their history, and listening to their needs. Then, it's about problem solving, advocacy, and finding past and current connections of the youth to help them find stability in their lives and raise their future.

What You Will Get To Learn
In this position, you will expand your knowledge of the child welfare system, learn about the dynamics of trauma with children and youth, and build upon your experience in advocacy. As a Youth Connections Advocate, you will also learn and implement the Dave Thomas Foundation's Wendy's Wonderful Kids child-focused recruitment model that is child-focused and evidence-based in helping youth achieve permanency.
Who We Are Seeking
The successful candidate is determined - driven by a purpose to achieve outcomes. We are also looking for someone who has a passion for finding connections for youth, and who is not shy. You must be an advocate for yourself and youth. This position is best suited for someone who is hard working and loves problem solving. Puzzle masters are welcome!
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, preferably in social work or other related field (although a master's degree is better), and at least one year of experience working with older youth, preferably working in the child welfare system. This includes working with CASA, the judicial system, probation, department of human services, foster care, group homes, day treatment programs, or mental health.
