Job Description:

The American Red Cross is looking for an Innovation Product Manager to join the Innovation team. The innovation team operates like a start up within the American Red Cross focusing on leveraging technology and data to innovate. The Innovation Product Manager will play multiple roles - digital product management, business strategist and manage the pipeline of Innovation initiatives.The Innovation Product Manager will report to the Chief Innovation Officer. The individual in this role must be able to function effectively with a high degree of independence and minimal direct supervision. Responsibilities:
  • Define product requirements and play the product owner role for new digital products
  • Conduct industry research and define the capabilities needed for key digital products and own the product roadmap
  • Manage the pipeline of all Innovation initiatives
  • Play the role of project manager for key Innovation projects
  • Lead cross functional teams to deliver these key projects
  • Support the innovation team in identifying new innovation opportunities
  • Work with stakeholders to define business requirements for key initiatives


  • Atleast 5 years experience in product management and project management of digital technology solutions
  • Expertise in new technologies (artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, bots, voice experiences etc)
  • Ability to define capabilities for digital products and create product roadmaps
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Constantly willing to push boundaries and overcome obstacles
  • Experience with agile software development lifecycles
  • Creative thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with executives
  • Experience with project management of technology solutions
  • Experience with business analysis and documentation of product requirements for digital technology initiatives

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements
Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential including sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
