The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing a county-wide safety program to ensure safe work practices and compliance with regulations. The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Drinking Water Services is recruiting for a Drinking Water Specialist to provide implementation of safe drinking water regulations in the assigned Region. This position serves the regulated public water system community as an expert technical resource on drinking water quality and water treatment, distribution, and operation issues. This position promotes compliance with drinking water standards through direct contact with water system operators, evaluation of water systems in the field, determination of compliance status of water systems, and technical assistance to water suppliers. Assistance is also provided to partner agencies carrying out the Drinking Water Program.

In addition, occasional travel statewide to participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions for operators and managers of public water systems, including formal presentations to water suppliers. Field work is necessary at water treatment facilities that may require close proximity to storage/use of water treatment chemicals and pumping equipment. The work of this position may be conducted remotely with full access to the needed operating systems and technology (internet, computer, and phone). There are times that the work will need to be conducted in the office.

Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – 5+ years of experience in fundraising, including a successful track record of personally meeting with donors and closing gifts. Experience directly qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting planned giving prospects, including developing solicitation strategy from identification through stewardship. Experience managing a planned giving program or large portfolio. Preferred – Issue advocacy, organizing and/or political fundraising experience. Working knowledge of compliance issues and regulations related to 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations. Working knowledge of estate planning and planned giving strategies and tax treatments (e.g. trusts, charitable gift annuities, beneficiary designated gifts and life insurance). Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – 5+ years of experience in fundraising, including a successful track record of personally meeting with donors and closing gifts. Experience directly qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting planned giving prospects, including developing solicitation strategy from identification through stewardship. Experience managing a planned giving program or large portfolio. Preferred – Issue advocacy, organizing and/or political fundraising experience. Working knowledge of compliance issues and regulations related to 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations. Working knowledge of estate planning and planned giving strategies and tax treatments (e.g. trusts, charitable gift annuities, beneficiary designated gifts and life insurance). Direct response marketing experience. Experience working within an affiliated organizational network, ideally experience with collaborative fundraising in the network. Experience working across teams.
