LCV is hiring a Data & Evaluation Director serving the Community and Civic Engagement (CCE) department, as well as the state LCV affiliates, who will, where permitted by law, utilize data in the voter file to determine which voters and members of the general public are likely to be engaged on environmental issues, and maintain voter file information that permits the organization to educate the public and motivate supporters to become active civic participants. Reporting to the Vice President of Civic Engagement, the Data & Evaluation Director will oversee data and targeting-related activities on voter registration, civic engagement, voter mobilization and community organizing for the CCE department and our flagship programs: Democracy for All (DFA) and Chispa.
Democracy For All (DFA) is one of the largest and most dynamic civic engagement programs in the nation and the largest program of its kind within the environmental movement, registering over 1.5 million new voters in the past decade. We operate in partnership with 30+ state affiliates in the Conservation Voter Movement (CVM), which gives Democracy For All substantial capacity and geographic reach. Our mission is to build a more just and equitable democracy that is responsive to all people and their will to protect the planet. Nationally, Democracy For All is improving access to and trust in our democracy, so communities that our country has traditionally left out of the decision-making process can reclaim their rightful influence, resulting in a system that responds to people’s will to overcome our country’s most critical environmental challenges. Democracy For All advocates for structural democracy reform, registers and turns people out to vote, and conducts transformational community organizing.
Chispa , a program of LCV, works to ensure that Latine communities and leaders have a strong voice in the movement for climate justice and within the environmental movement and influence the environmental policies and decisions that impact our health and environment. Based in the Community & Civic Engagement department, Chispa has programs in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Nevada, and Texas.
Responsibilities:
Generate, manage, and track voter actions taken and volunteer lists for CCE programs.
Serve as a point of contact for state league partner organizations with questions around CCE 501(c)(3) mobilization programs, including nonpartisan voter registration and get out the vote (GOTV) data.
Support the Campaigns Department with state support around CCE 501(c)(4) mobilization programs, including voter registration and get out the vote (GOTV) data.
Assist state league partners in establishing 501(c)(3) program and targeting goals, including identifying and coordinating opportunities for program data analysis.
Manage state league 501(c)(3) data requests and provide data management assistance to state league partners, as needed, including nonpartisan voter registration, VAN, EveryAction, and get out the vote (GOTV) data.
Assist with cross-departmental data analysis, targeting, and training.
Manage relationships with voter file, data, analytics and technology vendors, and serve as a liaison to other organizations that LCV and LCVEF work closely with on data-related issues.
Establish clear vendor standards and expectations with regard to performance deliverables of the EveryAction platform and toolsets.
Clean data and prepare lists to upload and export into the database(s) and Civis.
Maintain records describing the quality and quantity of available data.
Create reports providing strategic insight for the CCE team about our volunteer base and voter contacts.
Assist in designing voter outreach and volunteer retention experiments.
Analyze demographic and socioeconomic trends in membership, volunteer, and voter data and recommend measures to expand stakeholder diversity.
Explore opportunities to import and export data into DDX across the organization.
Analyze racial, gender and economic justice impact of government policies and programs on organizational stakeholders and population at-large.
Travel up to 10% for staff retreats, training, conferences and professional development opportunities, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – 5 years or 3 election cycles of experience in data management on issue or electoral campaigns, or with organizations focused on voter contact, data management or data analytics. Must have worked in at least one data management role in a campaign setting. Expert-level experience with VAN, MiniVAN or other voter contact tools. Experience with creating and managing relational databases and strong knowledge of SQL. Experience with responding to data requests, troubleshooting problems, and providing data-driven strategic guidance to multiple internal and external stakeholders in different geographic locations. Experience with designing, delivering and organizing data skills or data management training. Experience with creating regular reports highlighting key metrics for internal and external stakeholders. Preferred – Experience with or interest in randomized-controlled experiments. Experience with how modeling is utilized in campaigns. Experience with a statistical programming language such as R, Stata, SAS or SPSS; Experience with Python or GIS.
Skills: Required – Strong data management and analysis skills; demonstrated ability to communicate technical findings and concepts to non-technical audiences; able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality of work; highly motivated, curious and collaborative; Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. LCV is hiring a Data & Evaluation Director serving the Community and Civic Engagement (CCE) department, as well as the state LCV affiliates, who will, where permitted by law, utilize data in the voter file to determine which voters and members of the general public are likely to be engaged on environmental issues, and maintain voter file information that permits the organization to educate the public and motivate supporters to become active civic participants. Reporting to the Vice President of Civic Engagement, the Data & Evaluation Director will oversee data and targeting-related activities on voter registration, civic engagement, voter mobilization and community organizing for the CCE department and our flagship programs: Democracy for All (DFA) and Chispa.
Democracy For All (DFA) is one of the largest and most dynamic civic engagement programs in the nation and the largest program of its kind within the environmental movement, registering over 1.5 million new voters in the past decade. We operate in partnership with 30+ state affiliates in the Conservation Voter Movement (CVM), which gives Democracy For All substantial capacity and geographic reach. Our mission is to build a more just and equitable democracy that is responsive to all people and their will to protect the planet. Nationally, Democracy For All is improving access to and trust in our democracy, so communities that our country has traditionally left out of the decision-making process can reclaim their rightful influence, resulting in a system that responds to people’s will to overcome our country’s most critical environmental challenges. Democracy For All advocates for structural democracy reform, registers and turns people out to vote, and conducts transformational community organizing.
Chispa , a program of LCV, works to ensure that Latine communities and leaders have a strong voice in the movement for climate justice and within the environmental movement and influence the environmental policies and decisions that impact our health and environment. Based in the Community & Civic Engagement department, Chispa has programs in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Nevada, and Texas.
Responsibilities:
Generate, manage, and track voter actions taken and volunteer lists for CCE programs.
Serve as a point of contact for state league partner organizations with questions around CCE 501(c)(3) mobilization programs, including nonpartisan voter registration and get out the vote (GOTV) data.
Support the Campaigns Department with state support around CCE 501(c)(4) mobilization programs, including voter registration and get out the vote (GOTV) data.
Assist state league partners in establishing 501(c)(3) program and targeting goals, including identifying and coordinating opportunities for program data analysis.
Manage state league 501(c)(3) data requests and provide data management assistance to state league partners, as needed, including nonpartisan voter registration, VAN, EveryAction, and get out the vote (GOTV) data.
Assist with cross-departmental data analysis, targeting, and training.
Manage relationships with voter file, data, analytics and technology vendors, and serve as a liaison to other organizations that LCV and LCVEF work closely with on data-related issues.
Establish clear vendor standards and expectations with regard to performance deliverables of the EveryAction platform and toolsets.
Clean data and prepare lists to upload and export into the database(s) and Civis.
Maintain records describing the quality and quantity of available data.
Create reports providing strategic insight for the CCE team about our volunteer base and voter contacts.
Assist in designing voter outreach and volunteer retention experiments.
Analyze demographic and socioeconomic trends in membership, volunteer, and voter data and recommend measures to expand stakeholder diversity.
Explore opportunities to import and export data into DDX across the organization.
Analyze racial, gender and economic justice impact of government policies and programs on organizational stakeholders and population at-large.
Travel up to 10% for staff retreats, training, conferences and professional development opportunities, as needed.

Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – 5 years or 3 election cycles of experience in data management on issue or electoral campaigns, or with organizations focused on voter contact, data management or data analytics. Must have worked in at least one data management role in a campaign setting. Expert-level experience with VAN, MiniVAN or other voter contact tools. Experience with creating and managing relational databases and strong knowledge of SQL. Experience with responding to data requests, troubleshooting problems, and providing data-driven strategic guidance to multiple internal and external stakeholders in different geographic locations. Experience with designing, delivering and organizing data skills or data management training. Experience with creating regular reports highlighting key metrics for internal and external stakeholders. Preferred – Experience with or interest in randomized-controlled experiments. Experience with how modeling is utilized in campaigns. Experience with a statistical programming language such as R, Stata, SAS or SPSS; Experience with Python or GIS.

Compensation and Benefits

America Votes is seeking a talented staff or project manager and mid-senior campaign strategist for a full-time position as Ohio Deputy State Director. Position Description
America Votes is seeking a well-organized self-starter for a full-time position as Data Director. The Data Director plays a key role in the supporting campaign strategy and direct voter contact programs for the progressive movement. America Votes offers its diverse set of progressive partners a range of voter file, data, and targeting services. We seek a service oriented individual with a combination of technical and political skills for this work. This position is ideal for someone who is ready for a mid-level role in a campaign environment and has a passion for helping others do their best work, and is excited about the details and tools that power direct voter contact programs. This position reports directly to the Ohio State Director.
Location
This position is based in Columbus, Ohio and may require travel around the state. Other Ohio locations may be considered.
Responsibilities
Project Management: Support the state director in implementing America Votes' organizational goals, including REI goals. Participate in team creation of work plans and team benchmarks for success. Manage special projects to deliver on team goals.
Voter File Management and Maintenance: Manage voter file access for AV partner organizations and their consultants. This includes administration and security, training end-users, and providing technical assistance as needed. Work with staff, partners, vendors, consultants, and others for the acquisition, enhancement, manipulation, and management of voter and member data.
Management of Data Tools: Lead partner and organizational VAN and campaign data trainings. This includes identifying the various training needs, creating the necessary training materials, and leading the presentations. Provide support, including training and troubleshooting, for the implementation of various campaign tools.
Partner Support and Service: Work with partner organizations using the voter file and other technologies to support, enhance, and execute programs. This includes assisting partners in employing program implementation best practices as well as converting technical data to actionable issue advocacy and electoral campaign recommendations.
Coalition Support and Service: Responsible for coalition alignment on data and targeting which may include participating and leading various work groups or other meetings. Responsible for sharing data and tactic best practices during coalition meetings. Work with staff and partner groups to ensure that political and voter contact programs are maximizing shared voter file, targeting, and other data resources. This includes supporting staff and partner groups to develop campaign plans. support coalition partners through the development of campaign plans (electoral, redistricting, voting rights, and issue campaigns), providing technical assistance, responding to programmatic requests and participating actively in long-range strategic planning for the Ohio progressive movement. Direct Voter Contact Strategy: Lead AV Ohio's data analysis and coordination efforts, and provide strategic data-driven recommendations to partners on campaign field and targeting. Lead data presentation development. Must be comfortable developing district profiles, landscape memos, slide show presentations, and other documents to communicate data analysis with key stakeholders.

Qualifications Required
At least one cycle of experience (at least 2 years) with statewide data responsibilities. This includes experience with planning, program implementation, and analysis.
Experience working with underrepresented and/or historically marginalized communities, preferably in political or organizing settings. Understanding of how power and privilege can show up in data-both in access to data and the data itself.
Strong sense of ownership and resilience with respect to planning ahead, finding alternative paths when needed, and bouncing back from setbacks and rejections.
Candidates should have an understanding of common direct voter contact programs and experience using data to inform advocacy and electoral plans. Strong VAN or other database skills are required with at least one cycle of experience administering voter contact tools. Standout candidates will have experience with large scale canvass operations.
Must have a minimum of introductory training on SQL; standout candidates will have experience using SQL including a comfort level with SELECT, WHERE, GROUPBY . America Votes is seeking a well-organized self-starter for a full-time position as Data Director. The Data Director plays a key role in the supporting campaign strategy and direct voter contact programs for the progressive movement. America Votes offers its diverse set of progressive partners a range of voter file, data, and targeting services. We seek a service oriented individual with a combination of technical and political skills for this work. This position is ideal for someone who is ready for a mid-level role in a campaign environment and has a passion for helping others do their best work, and is excited about the details and tools that power direct voter contact programs. This position reports directly to the Ohio State Director.

This position is based in Columbus, Ohio and may require travel around the state. Other Ohio locations may be considered.
Responsibilities
Project Management: Support the state director in implementing America Votes' organizational goals, including REI goals. Participate in team creation of work plans and team benchmarks for success. Manage special projects to deliver on team goals.
Voter File Management and Maintenance: Manage voter file access for AV partner organizations and their consultants. This includes administration and security, training end-users, and providing technical assistance as needed. Work with staff, partners, vendors, consultants, and others for the acquisition, enhancement, manipulation, and management of voter and member data.
Management of Data Tools: Lead partner and organizational VAN and campaign data trainings. Position Description
America Votes is seeking a Data and Program Manager for a full-time, 2024-cycle position in the following states: AZ, FL, CO, GA, MN, NH, NV, OH, PA. The Data and Program Manager plays a key role in the advancement of the progressive movement in the state, including supporting the growth, strategy, and effectiveness of coalition direct voter contact programs through issue and election activity. This person will be the keeper and coordinator of some of the most exciting progressive work in the state. This position is ideal for someone who has entry level campaign experience and is eager to learn more, has a passion for helping others do their best work, and is excited about the details and tools that power direct voter contact programs. The position works directly with the America Votes team, as well as dozens of progressive partners across the state.

Responsibilities
Project Support and Management: Support coalition programs of America Votes primarily focused on direct voter contact. Program areas might include campus programs, ballot initiatives, tactic-specific programs (canvass, phone, relational programs, etc), down ballot focused programs (congressional, state level or local races, etc), Get Out the Vote programs, and other state-specific campaign projects.
Partner Support : Support coalition partners through the implementation of campaign plans (electoral, voting rights). This may include providing technical and organizing assistance for individual partner organizations or groups of partners , responding to programmatic requests, and supporting the implementation of winning strategies. Work with the state data director to support data needs of partner programs, including some VAN administration responsibilities. Portfolio may include some tools support including VAN, AV housed/created coordination tools, direct voter contact tools, and some grant management.
Support Coalition Management : Work with the state team on tracking and coordination tools to support the implementation of the America Votes program across tactics and partners. Support and create content for reports and deliver presentations to diverse sets of stakeholders, sometimes on short timelines. This work may include some coalition administration tasks like scheduling, coordinating communication to coalition partners, and supporting in person meetings and events.
Direct Voter Contact Program Support : Support coalition campaign work on field tactics implementation (like canvassing), including supporting the integration of best practices. This work may include developing systems or updating existing systems to manage the information, advance training, and strengthen the integration of best practices in the work. Program Implementation Support : Support meetings of coalition partners, which may include work groups on election-related topics such as campus programs, ballot initiatives, down ballot programs (congressional, state legislative, etc). Support events of America Votes partners and allies including coalition meetings and trainings, canvassing events, phone banks, and other direct voter contact events. Support program implementation through program participation, basic VAN administration, supporting program training and debrief activities, and support in using direct voter contact tools.

Qualifications
Required
Ideal candidates will have at least 1 cycle of experience in progressive political campaigns, progressive non-profits or similar organizations (with a campaign focus), or similar transferable experience. Ideal candidates will have experience with direct voter contact and canvass operations.
Experience working with underrepresented and/or historically marginalized communities, particularly in electoral or political settings.
Strong sense of ownership and resilience with respect to planning ahead, finding alternative paths when needed, and moving forward after setbacks. Demonstrated a bility to move people to action and hold them accountable with and without formal authority.
Familiarity with VAN (Voter Activation Network) or similar systems is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to be able to practice confidentiality, discretion and legal compliance in the work.
Familiarity with early vote, vote by mail, and voter mobilization programs. Familiarity with young voter programs including campus organizing models is a plus. Understanding of common voter contact methods like canvass, mail, and phone programs and applying those to persuasion and mobilization efforts, including early vote. Compensation

The Tor Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization advancing human rights and freedoms by creating and deploying free and open source anonymity and privacy technologies. Roughly a third of the organization's total revenue comes from individuals, and more than 6,000 people make gifts under $1,000 every year.

The Job
We are seeking an Individual Giving Manager with 3-5 years of experience in a smiliar role to take the lead on defining and executing the Tor Project's strategic approach to acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Tor donors who give less than $1,000 annually. This role reports to the Director of Fundraising and collaborates with the Fundraising Coordinator.
The Tor Project's approach to fundraising doesn't use privacy-invading tactics. We don't track whether or not donors have clicked on an email, a link, or a button; we don't buy or sell donor lists; we don't use invasive wealth assessment tools; and we aim to minimize the amount of information we collect during the donation process. The Individual Giving Manager must be able to prioritize donor privacy when conducting their duties and responsibilities.
Duties & responsibilities
Take ownership of the Tor Project's annual and monthly giving strategies with the primary goal of increasing small-dollar donor retention
Design and implement structures, processes, and policies required to execute these strategies
Create and maintain high-quality documentation about these structures, processes, and policies
Optimize Tor's open source, privacy-first CRM (CiviCRM) to build donor engagement using thoughtful automation and drip messaging
Collaborate with cross-team stakeholders to design and execute time-bound campaigns, including Tor's annual year-end fundraising campaign
Monitor and analyze progress towards goals and use this analysis to present suggestions for improvement
Contribute to short and long-term fundraising team planning and evaluation of strategic efforts
Represent the Tor Project in-person, at virtual events, and with a variety of external stakeholders

The Job
We are seeking an Individual Giving Manager with 3-5 years of experience in a smiliar role to take the lead on defining and executing the Tor Project's strategic approach to acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Tor donors who give less than $1,000 annually. This role reports to the Director of Fundraising and collaborates with the Fundraising Coordinator.
The Tor Project's approach to fundraising doesn't use privacy-invading tactics. We don't track whether or not donors have clicked on an email, a link, or a button; we don't buy or sell donor lists; we don't use invasive wealth assessment tools; and we aim to minimize the amount of information we collect during the donation process. The Individual Giving Manager must be able to prioritize donor privacy when conducting their duties and responsibilities.
Duties & responsibilities
Take ownership of the Tor Project's annual and monthly giving strategies with the primary goal of increasing small-dollar donor retention
Design and implement structures, processes, and policies required to execute these strategies
Create and maintain high-quality documentation about these structures, processes, and policies
Optimize Tor's open source, privacy-first CRM (CiviCRM) to build donor engagement using thoughtful automation and drip messaging
Collaborate with cross-team stakeholders to design and execute time-bound campaigns, including Tor's annual year-end fundraising campaign
Monitor and analyze progress towards goals and use this analysis to present suggestions for improvement
Contribute to short and long-term fundraising team planning and evaluation of strategic efforts
Represent the Tor Project in-person, at virtual events, and with a variety of external stakeholders
Support Director of Fundraising and Executive Director in donor relationship management
Collaborate closely with Fundraising Coordinator to facilitate timely gift acknowledgements and accurate reporting

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Lead Campaign Strategy: Work with America Votes partner organizations and stakeholders to design efficient and effective statewide and ballot-level electoral and voter education plans based on short and long-term priorities. Manage, evaluate, troubleshoot, and report on program outcomes and progress toward goals. Work with America Votes' national team to identify in-state funding opportunities to support America Votes' operations and partner-led programs.
Staff Hiring and Management : Lead a diverse, talented team in Colorado. Manage the team including development of work plans, professional development, and ongoing supervision and support. Implement America Votes' organizational goals and manage staff toward delivering on the shared goals of the organization. Ensure a safe, welcoming, cohesive, and inspiring team culture for staff to excel in; Role model and uphold the organization's values of creating an inclusive and equitable working environment for all members of the team.
Coalition Leadership & Management: Convene individual coalition partners and the collective table on a regular basis and facilitate discussions, decision making, and other critical work. Assist local organizations in identifying resources to build capacity and improve performance, shared strategy, and organization-specific campaign plans. Implement systems for ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of strategies. Work directly with national staff and partners to ensure smooth communication with state operations. Explore strategic opportunities to expand collaborations with stakeholders. Facilitate a collaborative and productive state coalition environment that advances racial equity goals. Ensure the security, development, and appropriate usage of the state coalition voter file.
Equity and Inclusion : Lead the coalition in approaching campaign, electoral, and coalition work through a lens of racial equity. Model principles of equity, diversity and inclusion internally and externally. Be culturally competent and support work to build power with BIPOC-led and focused partners.
Advance Election Modernization: Support or develop ongoing programs and legislative advocacy related to election modernization in collaboration with voting rights organizations and advocates.

Key Qualifications
Required
7+ years of electoral and advocacy campaign experience. At least two cycles in leadership for statewide campaign operations and management of campaign staff.
Expertise in electoral field program management, including outstanding organizing skills and the ability to write, evaluate, and execute winning campaign plans with a strong direct voter contact component.
Ability to successfully manage a coalition in a thoughtful, strategic and inclusive manner.

Compensation
Salary range is $100,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience, with a potential election year bonus, based on performance and the state's election landscape.

Position Overview
