A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RANGER ASSISTANT:
Room and board, and all meals provided.

Landscaping and yard maintenance
Manage recycling program.
General cleaning and re-stocking of paper products
Complete various maintenance projects with minimal supervision
Assist with opening and closing camp and basic camp operation procedures.

REQUIREMENTS FOR RANGER ASSISTANT:
Must be a certified driver on council's behalf (clear MVR background, be at least 21 years of age and provide proof of auto insurance and motor vehicle licensing) to drive council vehicles including work trucks, vans and/or all-terrain vehicle (ATV).
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment in a safe and effective and effective manner.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS @ GSU SUMMER CAMP:
Pass a criminal background check, including sex-offender registries/driving records.
Hold/obtain Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certifications or the equivalent.
Hold/obtain a Utah Food Handlers' Permit.
Must complete Youth Protection Training within first week of employment.
Ability to communicate and work with groups of campers ages 6-17 and provide necessary verbal instruction to campers.
Understand and implement safety guidelines and standards as outlined by Girl Scouts of the USA, the American Camp Association, and any state and local codes.
Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
Ability to respond in a crisis situation.

Hawkeye Community College’s Regional Transportation and Training Center has an immediate need for CDL Semi Truck Driving Instructors in the Cedar Valley and Peosta area. As an instructor, you would be delivering hands on in-cab and on-range instruction to students using a full-size tractor-trailer as well as skills monitoring and road monitoring to students in transportation programs or contracted training classes. Teaching assignments may be at various sites and in various formats and be held on days, evenings, and weekends. Instructors will plan and guide the learning processes for students toward the achievement in obtaining their CDL license and employment goals.
The Regional Transportation Training Center, located south of the main campus, is a training location for a variety of short-term training and continuing education driving courses. The driving range features an open driving area, 26-foot-wide road, inclines, and left and right turns. The center's building houses classrooms, drive through truck bays, and four virtual driving simulators .

Training and Experience:

Stockroom procedures; Microsoft Word and Excel preferred; retail food sales practices and stock room procedures preferred.
Ability to:

Prepare for deliveries by verifying orders, loading vehicles, and maintaining route supply inventory to ensure prompt delivery of products to customers . Document temporary storage and transportation of blood, blood products, and materials as required by internal and external regulatory requirements . Provide customer service by giving basic information and interacting in a positive proactive manner with employees . Maintain excellent vehicle conditions by keeping vehicle clean and checking fluid and gas levels Provide shipping and receiving support as directed . The aforementioned responsibilities describe the general nature of the position and are not an extensive list Standard Schedule: This is a second shift position working 11:30pm-7:30am. Pay Information: $16.00 per hour. There is a shift differential of $2.25 per hour from 11:30pm-7am. There is an additional $1.00 per hour for weekend hours. What you Need to Succeed: High School or equivalent required . Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record required Ability to drive for long periods of time required . What Will Give You the Competitive Edge: Previous experience with a messenger service or trucking company Physical Requirements: Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods. Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds. May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time. This position is based out of our Hazlewood Logistics center, (388 Hazelwood Logistics Center Drive) and may require up to 30% travel, within the region, and out of state, as the need arises. Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Operate Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as electric pallet jacks and various forklift equipment. Standard Schedule: Typically a Monday-Friday day shift. The schedule may adjust during travel and to meet business needs in a disaster cycle.
