The Spill Prevention, Preparedness, and Response Program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Spill Responder (Environmental Specialist 3) position. This position is located in our Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA . Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. From industrial facilities to illegal drug labs to sunken boats, our work to stop releases of hazardous materials to the environment is unique and challenging. What makes this role unique?
In this role, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team and use science to solve complex environmental and public health challenges. Working with other federal, state, local, and Tribal response partners, spill responders serve as Ecology’s State On-Scene Coordinator leading the response and cleanup of complex environmental spills. The most challenging aspect of the work is coordinating with others under stress. However, every response is a new opportunity to collaborate with partner agencies and impacted citizens. You will use skill and empathy to mitigate stresses so that everyone involved is able to perform at their best and get the job done safely. What you will do:
Conduct responses to spills of oil and HAZMAT, abandoned waste, fish kills, pressurized cylinders, illegal drug manufacturing facilities, and other environmental and human health emergencies.
Under supervision, conduct operations to control, contain, and cleanup spills, and investigate their cause.
Under supervision, perform hands-on cleanup actions at oil and HAZMAT spills and illegal drug manufacturing facilities.
As State On-Scene Coordinator, oversee cleanup actions of spillers and their contractors.
Complete detailed documentation of response actions.
Complete ongoing training related to growth and competence as a Spill Responder.
Ensure safe and appropriate management of dangerous wastes generated as part of emergency oil and hazmat cleanup activities.

Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. Full-time equivalent experience means that any experience where working hours were less than 40 hours per week will be prorated in order to meet the equivalency of full-time. You will receive SPPR Program safety training and demonstrate understanding and performance of safe field operations. Threats to worker safety may include physical, chemical, biological hazards of materials; traffic; site conditions; weather; and threats posed by animals or contentious people at a work site.
Hazardous Materials Management – Accurate assessment of hazards from chemicals involved in environmental incidents is critical to the effective performance of this position. You will receive the training and equipment to perform this competency. Certification as a Hazardous Materials Specialist under State law is required before independently acting as the State On-Scene Coordinator during incidents.
Must live within a 60-minute commuting distance of Ecology’s Central Region Office in Union Gap, WA.

Assess Threats to Worker Safety & Perform Field Duties in a Safe Manner – Safety of workers and the public is the first priority of spill response positions. You will receive SPPR Program safety training and demonstrate understanding and performance of safe field operations. Threats to worker safety may include physical, chemical, biological hazards of materials; traffic; site conditions; weather; and threats posed by animals or contentious people at a work site.
Hazardous Materials Management – Accurate assessment of hazards from chemicals involved in environmental incidents is critical to the effective performance of this position. You will receive the training and equipment to perform this competency. Certification as a Hazardous Materials Specialist under State law is required before independently acting as the State On-Scene Coordinator during incidents.
Must live within a 60-minute commuting distance of Ecology’s Central Region Office in Union Gap, WA.
After hired, the expectation is that you would notify your supervisor immediately if you are unable to obtain any of the above required licenses or certifications, or if any of the above are revoked, expired, or suspended for any reason.

As a Privacy Compliance Officer (PCO), you will support Information Security and Privacy Office (ISPO) through delivery of agency compliance and effectiveness of the privacy program that follows the agency mission and all relevant regulations.

What makes this role unique?
In this role, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team and use science to solve complex environmental and public health challenges. Working with other federal, state, local and Tribal response partners, spill responders serve as Ecology’s State On-Scene Coordinator leading the response and cleanup of complex environmental spills. The most challenging aspect of the work is coordinating with others under stress. However, every response is a new opportunity to collaborate with partner agencies and impacted citizens alike. You will use skill and empathy to mitigate stresses so that everyone involved is able to perform at their best and get the job done safely. What you will do:
Conduct responses to spills of oil and HAZMAT, abandoned waste, fish kills, pressurized cylinders, illegal drug manufacturing facilities, and other environmental and human health emergencies.
Under supervision, conduct operations to control, contain and cleanup spills, and investigate their cause.
Under supervision, perform hands-on cleanup actions at oil and HAZMAT spills and illegal drug manufacturing facilities.
As State On-Scene Coordinator, oversee cleanup actions of spillers and their contractors.
Complete detailed documentation of response actions.
Complete ongoing training related to growth and competence as a Spill Responder.
Ensure safe and appropriate management of dangerous wastes generated as part of emergency oil and hazmat cleanup activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. Full-time equivalent experience means that any experience where working hours were less than 40 hours per week will be prorated in order to meet the equivalency of full-time. We would calculate this by looking at the total hours worked per week, divide this by 40, and then multiply by the total number of months worked. Examples of the proration calculations are:
30 hours worked per week for 20 months: (30/40) x 20 months = 15 months full-time equivalent
20 hours worked per week for 12 months: (20/40) x 12 months = 6 months full-time equivalent
Experience for both required and desired qualifications can be gained through various combinations of formal professional employment, education, and volunteer experience. Duties
What makes this role unique?
In this role, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team and use science to solve complex environmental and public health challenges. Working with other federal, state, local and Tribal response partners, spill responders serve as Ecology’s State On-Scene Coordinator leading the response and cleanup of complex environmental spills. The most challenging aspect of the work is coordinating with others under stress. However, every response is a new opportunity to collaborate with partner agencies and impacted citizens alike. You will use skill and empathy to mitigate stresses so that everyone involved is able to perform at their best and get the job done safely. What you will do:
Conduct responses to spills of oil and HAZMAT, abandoned waste, fish kills, pressurized cylinders, illegal drug manufacturing facilities, and other environmental and human health emergencies.
Under supervision, conduct operations to control, contain and cleanup spills, and investigate their cause.
Under supervision, perform hands-on cleanup actions at oil and HAZMAT spills and illegal drug manufacturing facilities.
As State On-Scene Coordinator, oversee cleanup actions of spillers and their contractors.
Complete detailed documentation of response actions.
Complete ongoing training related to growth and competence as a Spill Responder.
Ensure safe and appropriate management of dangerous wastes generated as part of emergency oil and hazmat cleanup activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. Full-time equivalent experience means that any experience where working hours were less than 40 hours per week will be prorated in order to meet the equivalency of full-time. We would calculate this by looking at the total hours worked per week, divide this by 40, and then multiply by the total number of months worked. Examples of the proration calculations are:
30 hours worked per week for 20 months: (30/40) x 20 months = 15 months full-time equivalent
20 hours worked per week for 12 months: (20/40) x 12 months = 6 months full-time equivalent
Experience for both required and desired qualifications can be gained through various combinations of formal professional employment, education, and volunteer experience. Complete Costco food orders on a weekly basis; ensure program is stocked with fresh, culturally appropriate foods to meet the weekly meal plans.
Ensure each employee has obtained their Food Handler’s Card and food is cooked and stored in accordance with food safety standards.
Fill up CASA vehicles gas tanks as needed.
Schedule quarterly preventative maintenance for each of the program vehicles. Schedule appointments for vehicles as issues arise.
Perform weekly audit of mileage logs to ensure they are completed to the standards of the organization. Send all logs to Facilities monthly.
Ensure each employee has taken 15-passenger and defensive driving training. Coordinate two supervised training drives with each employee prior to driving alone.
Coordinate facility repairs with YouthCare’s facilities department and/or external providers.
While in ratio, provide direct supervision of youth and associated tasks such as providing emotional support, cooking meals, facilitating transportation, participating in chores, completing required documentation/data entry, and facilitating life skills workshops.
Complete client intake and discharge procedures, as needed.
Provide assistance and transportation for client outings, medical appointments, and to the airport, as needed.

Assisting in the design and development of donation forms, landing pages and surveys
Configuring and generating email, SMS and donation form reporting and finding trends in email reports to help inform future decisions and optimize performance
Provide training for members of other MSF teams in email creation
Advising on configuration of CRM and liaising with the Systems Team and vendors
Qualifications
You’re a data-driven digital marketer with an eye for captivating storytelling and persuasive messaging and design. You are a creative problem solver with strong analytical skills and a proven ability to manage competing calendars and priorities . You are comfortable making recommendations and implementing strategies for copy, design, and process improvement.
Relevant experience in digital marketing and fundraising, especially in email and mobile. Agency experience a plus but not required.
Proven project management, time management, and follow-through skills. Ability to deal with shifting priorities and to communicate with diplomacy under pressure.
Expert interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills .
Detail oriented and focused on quality , able to proof-read and conduct quality assurance reviews.
Commitment to principles of anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion; able to apply anti-racist and DEI approach in the creative development and review process.
A collaborative team player , able to build constructive and effective relationships with diverse groups of people.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking a full-time Digital Marketing Coordinator–Email to help accelerate fundraising growth in our email marketing and SMS programs. Reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Email your main priority will be to ensure smooth execution of the email program. In this role you’ll be supporting a dynamic and evolving program focusing on expanding our digital engagement, improving the performance of email acquisition and retention and increasing the share of digital revenue from sustainers — donors who give recurring monthly, quarterly, or annual gifts.
With guidance from your Senior Manager, and with digital agency partners, you’ll collaborate with the Audience Teams to bring the work of MSF to life for our supporters with the right message at the right time. You will play an active role in achieving our fundraising goal of growing unrestricted digital revenue by at least 10 percent each year.
The Digital Marketing Coordinator–Email believes in an omnichannel marketing approach centered around the donor experience. You will use available tools and technologies to build and implement a strong segmentation and automation plan. Update the communications calendar to incorporate a rapid response email and SMS campaign to a headline-making emergency
