Job Description

The Oregon Health Authority has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager to lead an excellent team, provide top-notch vendor management and work to advance their IT operations. 

 

This position falls under the Classification Principal/Executive Manager D.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO!

As the iOne Technical Manager, you will manage a technical team to operate the iONE technology platform.  You will act on the authority of the IT Director for Vendor Managed Services (VMS) to oversee development, and ongoing operations as well as contract adherence, and performance management of services provided by vendors.

 

In this role, you will work with vendors and State Data Center Services to manage the Integrated Eligibility system technology and interfaces.  You will work collectively with all groups within the Office of Information Services (OIS), business units, project leadership, other state agencies and third-party providers. These services are used in the service delivery to support shared Health and Human Services programs.

 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • (a) Six (6) years of experience in supervision, staff-technical, or professional-level work. Two (2) years of this experience must have included supervision and management of a program, section, or unit which included: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation, and d) budget preparation. OR (b) A Bachelor's degree or equivalent course work (144 quarter or 96 semester hours) in management, such as Business or Public Administration, or a related field; AND Three (3) years of experience in supervision, staff-technical, or professional-level work. Two (2) years of this experience must have included supervision and management of a program, section, or unit which included: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation, and d) budget preparation.
  • Current expertise to for effective supervision of subordinate team leads and technical staff.
  • In-depth knowledge and skills the following areas:
    • Team building
    • Communication
    • Project management
    • Resource development and management
    • Operational and tactical planning
    • Budgeting and cost/benefit analysis
  • Management experience in the following areas:
    • Application and system development
    • Support, maintenance and administration
    • Application and enterprise service architecture
    • Data analysis
  • Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
