The job family spans across multiple engineering disciplines. Work consists of designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting and debugging wired, wireless and security systems, software and solutions. Requires a broad knowledge and application of engineering disciplines, methodologies and tools.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for working with a team of other engineers as well as a larger operational team to implement and support a cloud based wired and wireless NaaS networking solution for a large retailer
- You will be supporting Day 1 and Day 2 operational rollouts including quickly identifying issues and working with the larger team to quickly resolve those issues
- You will be identifying operational efficiencies and communicating those to the larger team
- You may require some travel to retail sites for Day 2 troubleshooting from time to time
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Typically 10+ years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- You must have deep understanding of wired networking including BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VRRP/HSRP and Spanning Tree. Working with VXLAN implementations would be a plus. You must not only understand the concepts surrounding these technologies and how to configure them but you must also understand how to troubleshoot them.
- You must have some background in security technologies, including IPSec, SSL/TLS, Certificates and 802.1X.
- You must have some background supporting and/or configuring and troubleshooting authentication and authorization with both radius and LDAP/AD.
- You must have some background knowledge around 802.11 wireless technologies. You must be willing to pick this knowledge up and become very proficient with this technology.
- You must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- You must be able to effectively communicate with a wide variety people within the organization including company vice presidents all the way down to a front line network engineer.
- You must live in the Atlanta metro area or be willing to relocate
