Clark County Public Works is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Engineering & Design Section, one of a handful of groups that make up its Engineering & Construction Division. The 10-person Engineering and Design Section has the tight-knit feel of a small firm with access to the expertise and resources of the larger Clark County Public Works organization. The team is production oriented with a focus on design and plan production to support the County’s Capital Improvement Programs. Engineering and Design Section engineers design county infrastructure and have opportunities for career development through planning, project development, project management, emergency response assistance and other interesting and challenging work. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
B.S. degree in Civil or related Engineering and two (2) years of experience in an Engineer II or equivalent position and registration as a professional civil or structural engineer.

Works with HVAC Technicians on duties related to installation, operation, maintenance & repair to heating, ventilating & air condition ( HVAC ) systems within large campus dormitories and buildings connected to the Central Energy Facility. This includes chilled water systems, steam heated hot water, steam condensate piping, and self-contained refrigerant systems. Assists HVAC Technicians with installing, operating, maintaining and repairing residential heating, ventilating and air conditioning units in smaller college buildings and dormitories, historical homes and office buildings. Duties include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment problems and making repairs as required.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma and experience in the HVAC trade is required. Must be willing to expand current knowledge on how to install, perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC equipment in residential, industrial and commercial applications. Must be willing to attend training. EPA certification preferred. Must be able to complete records and paperwork associated with repairs/installations. Knowledge of campus layout and buildings is preferred. Must have a valid SC Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Minimum Requirements
High school diploma and experience in the HVAC trade is required. Must be willing to expand current knowledge on how to install, perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC equipment in residential, industrial and commercial applications. Must be willing to attend training. EPA certification preferred. Must be able to complete records and paperwork associated with repairs/installations. Knowledge of campus layout and buildings is preferred. Must have a valid SC Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have knowledge regarding the handling of chemicals, refrigerants and industrial gasses. Job Summary
The employees occupying the positions of this class are responsible for performing and resolving technical and complex civil engineering tasks and problems within the framework of broad engineering and administrative guidelines within transportation. The Engineer I is an entry level engineer position in the Public Works Department. These employees operate from an office or in the field performing work under the supervision of an administrative supervisor. This is the first step in a career progression that continues to the Engineer II position and the Engineer III position. Engineer II employees work on more complex engineering tasks with less supervision and Engineer III employees manage the most complex engineering projects and are Certified Professional Engineers. The Engineer II position is the second step in a career progression that begins with Engineer I and ends with Engineer III. Engineer II employees perform tasks with limited supervision and require substantial use of independent judgment within the scope of advanced engineering assignments. Engineer I employees perform basic engineer work under the supervision of an administrative supervisor. Engineer III employees manage the more technical engineering projects and are Certified Professional Engineers. This transportation professional role is responsible for the review of land use and development engineering applications, plans, and reports for transportation concurrency, street and road standards. The employees occupying the positions of this class are responsible for performing and resolving technical and complex civil engineering tasks and problems within the framework of broad engineering and administrative guidelines within transportation. The Engineer I is an entry level engineer position in the Public Works Department. This is the first step in a career progression that continues to the Engineer II position and the Engineer III position. Job Purpose
To perform routine preventive maintenance on a variety of light and commercial mechanical equipment at an institutional setting. To work independently to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC auxiliary equipment, plumbing equipment related to mechanical equipment, electrical equipment such as motors, breakers and their associated controls. Duties include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment problems and making repairs as required.
Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma or GED , completion of a technical training program in a maintenance trade equivalent. A minimum of two years related experience and/or training (building or equipment maintenance); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Job Purpose
Maintains the grounds of a formally landscaped college campus and off campus sites (Patriot’s Point Athletic fields, Grice Marine Lab, Stono Preserve and Lockwood). Performs chemical applications, pond/water feature maintenance and general landscape maintenance. Other duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance such as policing the grounds, debris pickup, fertilizing, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, unclogging drainage as needed, etc.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED and the ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Knowledge of commonly used landscape plants and irrigation systems helpful. Pesticide applications license is required. Must have valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires knowledge of commonly used landscaping plants. Must be able to operate landscaping equipment/tools, including sprayers and spreaders, and recognize/identify/treat ornamental plant and tree pathogens and diseases. Knowledge of pond and water feature maintenance would be helpful. Knowledge of athletic fields with Bermuda grass, common areas of zoysia grass and St. Augustine grass is required. Must have basic knowledge of chemicals used in grounds maintenance. Must know how to apply fertilizer/pesticides. Knowledge in appropriate pesticide applications, fertilizing and preventive treatments according to state regulations is required. Must have the skill to apply chemicals to grounds/plants/bedding areas using a tank sprayer or backpack sprayer. Required to analyze pesticide and fertilizing treatments and report problems to supervisor. Must read, understand and keep MSDS sheets current at all times. Must have the ability to keep a log to document all spraying and chemical applications and ensure that it is current at all times. Ability/knowledge to perform routine safety inspections on all spraying or chemical application equipment. Must be reliable and responsible. Prefer working knowledge of methods/procedures associated with maintenance of plants and flowers, both annual and perennial. Must be able to recognize and know when and how to treat ornamental pathogens and diseases. Position requires basic computer skills and working knowledge and experience in using e-mail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is preferred. Experience in utilizing on-line work order systems is a plus. Job Purpose
Maintains the grounds of a formally landscaped college campus and off campus sites (Patriot’s Point Athletic fields, Grice Marine Lab, Stono Preserve and Lockwood). Performs chemical applications, pond/water feature maintenance and general landscape maintenance. Other duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance such as policing the grounds, debris pickup, fertilizing, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, unclogging drainage as needed, etc.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED and the ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Knowledge of commonly used landscape plants and irrigation systems helpful. Pesticide applications license is required. Must have valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires knowledge of commonly used landscaping plants. Must be able to operate landscaping equipment/tools, including sprayers and spreaders, and recognize/identify/treat ornamental plant and tree pathogens and diseases. Knowledge of pond and water feature maintenance would be helpful. Knowledge of athletic fields with Bermuda grass, common areas of zoysia grass and St. Augustine grass is required. Must have basic knowledge of chemicals used in grounds maintenance. Must know how to apply fertilizer/pesticides. Knowledge in appropriate pesticide applications, fertilizing and preventive treatments according to state regulations is required. Must have the skill to apply chemicals to grounds/plants/bedding areas using a tank sprayer or backpack sprayer. Required to analyze pesticide and fertilizing treatments and report problems to supervisor. Must read, understand and keep MSDS sheets current at all times. Must have the ability to keep a log to document all spraying and chemical applications and ensure that it is current at all times. Ability/knowledge to perform routine safety inspections on all spraying or chemical application equipment. Must be reliable and responsible. Prefer working knowledge of methods/procedures associated with maintenance of plants and flowers, both annual and perennial. Must be able to recognize and know when and how to treat ornamental pathogens and diseases. Position requires basic computer skills and working knowledge and experience in using e-mail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is preferred. Experience in utilizing on-line work order systems is a plus. To perform routine preventive maintenance on a variety of light and commercial mechanical equipment at an institutional setting. Job Purpose
To perform routine preventive maintenance on a variety of light and commercial mechanical equipment at an institutional setting. To work independently to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC auxiliary equipment, plumbing equipment related to mechanical equipment, electrical equipment such as motors, breakers and their associated controls. Duties include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment problems and making repairs as required.
Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma or GED , completion of a technical training program in a maintenance trade equivalent. A minimum of two years related experience and/or training (building or equipment maintenance); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

What you Need to Know: As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will work under close supervisor to repair, calibrate, and maintain all types of basic biomedical equipment, devices, instruments, and systems Inspect, install, and provide preventive maintenance of general biomedical equipment. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD: Key Responsibilities: Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, service and calibration of a diverse range of biomedical equipment and instrumentation. Install, qualify, maintain service, modify, troubleshoot, safety test, and calibrate a variety of biomedical equipment and instrumentation by interpreting engineering and vendor information, schematic diagrams and graphic illustrations. Diagnose and correct system or equipment malfunctions by repairing or replacing parts to ensure that biomedical equipment and internal circuitry meets specified requirements. Assist in the support of a systematic preventive maintenance program for biomedical equipment and instrumentation which may include entry into Computerized Maintenance Management System. Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel in the operation and maintenance of equipment. Meet departmental performance indicator standards on a consistent basis; Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Standard Schedule: Monday-Friday, day schedule. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Pay Information: Starts at $17.50, goes up based on experience. Includes any applicable shift differentials for working any late nights, over nights, and on the weekends. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: High School or equivalent required. Maintenance skills in electronics, mechanical or electromechanical device repair preferred. Ability to read color codes on wiring and electrical components. Ability to comprehend and follow both written and oral instructions. Must have a valid Driver’s license with a good driving record as travel may be require Ability to take support calls. Ability to work on a team. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs frequently and unassisted; Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
