As a Parks Grounds Maintenance Worker at the Luke Jensen Sports Complex you will, maintain and improve sports field turf, plants, shrubs, ground covers, irrigation, paths, walkways, trails, parking lots, roadways, play equipment, recreation facilities and restrooms. Other duties will include; performing sports field preparation and set up between games, heavy manual labor, herbicide application, and using specialized equipment, machines, and hand tools.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
Experience involving parks or grounds maintenance; landscape construction and/or maintenance or any other labor intensive work experience that directly involves the skills required to operate machinery, small tools, power tools, vehicles or equipment
A valid driver’s license required at time of hire
Must possess or be able to obtain with five (5) months of hire, a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. (CDL) with ‘N’ tanker endorsement
Ability to pass a drug screen
Ability to pass a criminal records check which includes being finger printed
Knowledge of: Function and use of tools and equipment identified above; and safety practices required in grounds maintenance functions. Knowledge of principles and methods of grounds maintenance, irrigation systems, chemical application materials, horticulture.
Ability to: Perform heavy laboring tasks for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold in a safe and efficient manner; work independently with limited supervision, respond to questions, complaints, and request for service from the general public in a courteous manner, understand and follow oral and written instructions and prepare written reports and schedules.

Salary Grade: Local 307.104 ($20.38 - $24.81) per hour
