Job Description

Job Summary

This position drives a bus and/or van for athletic teams in a safe manner, provides courteous service, safe driving skills, and assists riders.

 

Essential Job Functions

Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drives bus and/or van for athletic competitions and events across the State and the Nation.
  • Provides information regarding vehicle maintenance to athletic administration.
  • Fuels vehicles for transportation of student-athletes.
  • Transports student-athletes to and from their scheduled destinations at a variety of times including evenings, weekends and occasionally overnight.
  • Provides courteous service, when assisting student-athletes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL, Class B with air brakes -Passenger/School).
  • Good driving record.
  • Must be insurable (automobile).
  • Must pass criminal record check.
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to drive 33 passenger bus and 15 passenger van.
  • Must be reliable, prompt, and courteous.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and skill in public relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to assist riders, if necessary.
  • Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with diverse groups, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Possess good organizational skills.

 

Working Conditions

Requires skills for succeeding in an office environment, using technology. Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Work is performed in an office setting.  Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours. During course of day, interact with student, faculty and staff in person, by telephone and computers.

 

Employment Status

 

Part-time position averaging 10-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and occasionally overnight.
