Job Summary 

This Program Coordinator II position reports to the Department Finance Manager and leads the Public Works Business Information Services program. 

This position has two direct reports and is responsible for coordinating a number of key processes within the department including contract development; procurement practices and standards; and asset management. 

This position is also the primary liaison between Public Works and Clark County IT services, and functions as the contract manager and primary subject matter expert for key Public Works data systems including the maintenance management system and the fleet services data system. 

The Business Information Services section within Public Works is a new section that is intended to provide the department with internal expertise on Public Works specific contracting processes, program performance data systems, and contract and procurement internal controls. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in making positive organizational change within a government environment or another environment with similar regulatory requirements. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

Any combination of education, experience, and training that would demonstrate the ability to perform the work will be considered. 

  • A bachelor’s degree is required as well as a minimum of two years of responsible experience in either contract management, accounting, complex administrative functions, or a related field.
  • Other combinations of education or experience, which would demonstrate the ability to perform the work, will be considered.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required for this position. 

Knowledge of: The principles and practices of public sector organization and program operations; project management, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and problem solving; methods and procedures of budget development and justification; application and interpretation of County, state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the program area; analysis and evaluation of policies, procedures, public information, and service delivery issues; local and state lawmaking processes; research methods and techniques; trends and practices within the specialized area; and personal computer applications and usage.

Salary Grade: M2.820 ($5,626.00 - $7,949.00) per month
