THE POSITION

This is a full-time non-exempt position. The Executive & Project Assistant supports the CEO by overseeing his scheduling and time commitments on a range of As You Sow’s programs as well as performing research on a number of new projects and feasibility studies of potential ideas. This fast-paced position works across all programs as well as fundraising, media, communications, and outside organizational partnerships. Integral to As You Sow’s innovative approach to changing corporations for good, this role provides an opportunity to assist the CEO find new solutions that help in innovate ways across multiple strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate has the ability to keep track of multiple topics with overlapping due dates; think critically; offer innovative solutions to roadblocks; and develop project plans, bring together consulting teams, perform feasibility analysis, and hand off initiates ready for funding and implementation.

Position Type: 1.0 FTE. Non-exempt

Reports to: CEO

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Meet daily with the CEO
  • Filter and sort CEO’s email inbox daily
  • Schedule CEO’s calendar
  • Interface with the Board of Directors
  • Work closely with Fundraising Department to coordinate CEO on foundation grants and major donor meetings
  • Attend critical meetings to take notes
  • Understand the different Programs and how they relate to one another
  • Ensure staff has access to the CEO
  • Tweet and post for CEO in social media channels
  • Scan news for pertinent articles on daily basis
  • Research
    • Conduct research across a range of ESG issue areas
    • Develop feasibility studies of potential projects
    • Prepare internal and external documents for team members and external partners
    • Draft project management plans
  • Project Management
    • Run project management software (Wrike) to coordinate ongoing projects
    • Salesforce database entry related to companies and programs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience working on fast-paced calendaring
  • 2 years of experience with project management
  • Love of teamwork.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat Pro,
  • Excellent writing skills – no typos
  • Excellent comprehension skills
  • Strong interpersonal engagement and communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to act independently, communicate frequently, and ask questions when needed
  • Demonstrate commitment to progressive social and environmental change
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and commitment to excellence
  • Openness to learning from others and developing new professional and personal skills
  • Film/video production background a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills a plus
  • Sense of humor appreciated
