JOB PURPOSE
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe operation of forklift equipment while transporting material and is also responsible for the pre equipment inspection. The position may require manual loading and unloading of material with or without a pallet jack. May be required to assist in other departments (i.e. shipping and inventory) as the business needs dictate.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Moves, controls, devices to drive industrial forklifts to transport materials between receiving, storage, service and shipping areas.
Organizes and secures materials where balance sacks, pallets, and other materials are stored.
Performs routine pre inspection on equipment to ensure its working properly.
Manually loads or unloads material from pallets, skids, platforms or lifting devices.
Receives inventory when required, responsible for receipt of daily inbound and return items.

Working Conditions
Center hours are Monday – Friday 7am – 9pm. Flexibility in scheduling will be vial to accommodate class schedules. Setting individual core hours will be encouraged with flex hours to accommodate instructional and community requirements.
Work is performed either in or a combination of an office setting, classroom setting, industrial lab environment, and potential exposure to a manufacturing like space using technology. Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Oversee and maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience as a Production Supervisor -- manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Good attendance and performance work history
Must exhibit strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
