POSITION DESCRIPTION

America Votes is seeking a National Grants Coordinator for the national office located in Washington, DC. This position will be responsible for a variety of duties related to building and maintaining comprehensive grant tracking systems, including coordinating work across multiple departments, systems management and in-house communications. This person will work closely with state and national staff and stakeholders to capture grant-related information and evaluate progress towards goals. Applicants should be comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, team-oriented office and able to demonstrate flexibility, extreme attention to detail, and a strong commitment to equity and grant making. This position reports directly to the National Director of Grants. This is not a permanent position, ending in March 2023.

 

LOCATION

The location for this position is the Washington, DC area. America Votes is currently working remotely. However, if you are based in a state with an America Votes office, a hybrid approach may be possible, depending on local guidance. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain systems to ensure regular and comprehensive grants tracking and updates, 
  • Assist compliance team with drafting and tracking necessary grants documents,
  • Coordinate with Finance department to ensure alignment on outgoing grants and end of year reporting
  • Work with state staff to ensure regular reporting by grantees and work with the National Director of Grants in regular evaluation of progress toward grant-related goals and metrics.  
  • Coordinate with Field and Data departments to ensure necessary partnerships documents are completed prior to grants being distributed
  • Coordinate with Political and Field departments to gather information for regular funder updates on overall program execution
  • Provide general assistance to National Grants Director in overseeing AV State Summit planning,
  • Communicate regularly with state staff and grantees to ensure grant obligations are being met.
  • Assist in other development department duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of common direct voter contact, issue advocacy programs, and other progressive organizing capacities
  • Experience building strong and accountable relationships across an organization
  • Comfortable working within and across teams to drive projects forward
  • Ability to prioritize and handle variety of projects simultaneously
  • Extremely detail- and deadline-oriented
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly and appropriately for a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity
  • Work well with people from diverse backgrounds 
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Basic knowledge of c3/c4/PAC designations
  • Proficiency in Google suite

COMPENSATION

The annual salary for this position will be $50,000 -$55,000 ($4,167 - 4,584/month) and depend upon the applicant’s experience. Benefits for this position include health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation, paid sick days, and parental leave, as well as 401 (K) after six months of continuous service with the organization. This position ends March 31, 2023.

Salary

$50,000 -$55,000
