Job Summary
This is senior-level traffic engineering work and administrative activities for the Department of Public Works’ Transportation Division. This position performs the highest level of traffic engineering work and serves as a key contact for citizens regarding traffic engineering issues.
The Traffic Engineer requires specialized knowledge in traffic and transportation engineering and requires the use of independent judgment to resolve complex or unique problems. The position provides senior traffic engineering guidance to other engineers within the division.

Knowledge of: Basic engineering principles, practices, physical and mathematical sciences (trigonometry and geometry), traffic operations, MUTCD and WSDOT standards.
