Job Summary
This position assists the Director of Community Services, the department Management Team, and the department Equity Team apply diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) principles centering race in the development of the department 5 year Strategic Plan, the Community Action Community Needs Assessment (CNA), and in funding selection decisions and contracting, as well as advising on outreach to BIPOC and other historically underserved populations.
Key responsibilities include facilitation of DEI discussions with the Management Team and department staff in support of the Strategic Planning Process, supporting the Community Needs Assessment (CNA) Task Force to ensure the assessment incorporates input from marginalized communities to include BIPOC, all disabilities, and LGBTQ+ perspectives ,facilitation and training support of the department Equity Team, working with Managers and Department Contracts Staff to review and improve procurement processes and contracts through a DEI lens, and advising Department leadership on community outreach efforts to ensure By/For organizations are meaningfully and appropriately engaged. Duties will also include working with staff and mainstream organizations the department contracts with to implement DEI principles so that they can deliver culturally responsive services. This position may monitor and prepare reports to the Director on the progress and achieved outcomes of programs regarding disproportionality amongst marginalized communities. Utilizes data to help identify disproportionality in processes, contracts, and service delivery as it relates to underserved communities. This position reports to the Director of Community Services.

Education and Experience:
Program Coordinator II positions typically require a job related Bachelor’s degree; and/or a combination of experience and specialized training which includes a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the assigned area.
Knowledge of: The principles and practices of public sector organization and program operations; project management, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and problem solving; methods and procedures of budget development and justification; application and interpretation of County, state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the program area; analysis and evaluation of policies, procedures, public information, and service delivery issues; local and state lawmaking processes; research methods and techniques; trends and practices within the specialized area; and personal computer applications and usage.
Ability to: Effectively plan, direct, and delegate program components; assign, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates; delegate responsibility and authority to carry out policy directives of the governing authority in an effective and timely manner; write clear and concise reports, memoranda, and letters; analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and formulate recommendations; utilize various PC applications at an advanced level; interpret and explain policies, procedures, laws, and regulations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, other governmental jurisdictions, contractors, and other County staff.
