The Oregon Health Authority is expanding the Oregon State Hospital's infrastructure and currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Mail Equipment Operator 2 with experience to join an excellent team and work to advance their operations. What you will do!

  • Set up and operate high speed mail machine, sorting mail according to departments, and maintain efficiency of postage machine by replacing ribbons, downloading the funds from the NEOPOST website including coordinate maintenance and supplies for X-Ray Machine and Scanners (Walk through and Handheld).
  • Prioritizes, schedules, and delivers mail on a systematic schedule throughout the hospital.
  • Track sensitive documents such as express and certified mail getting appropriate signatures.
  • Receive and verify certified and express mail to ensure coordination to the party the package is addressed to in a timely manner.
  • Gives technical information to individuals about the mailing processes and advise customers about mailing techniques, procedures and good postal hygiene (i.e. complete addresses, eliminating duplicates) to get the best possible cost for mailing.
  • Provide peak coverage on all other mail related functions, including the internal sorting and distribution of mail for 650 patients and staff.
  • Document and charge various department for mailing costs to accurate reflect where the costs are distributed.
  • Manage all large packages to log them into the computer system, scan the boxes for contraband.
  • Develop and track costs to charge cost centers for outgoing mail, and provide monthly costs to the Business Office to reallocate costs associated with mailing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of experience operating and maintaining high-speed mail-processing equipment that includes production folders, optical character recognition scanners, inserters, and ink jet addressing equipment.
