Position Description

America Votes is seeking a National Grants Manager for the national office located in Washington, DC to help maintain the organization's grant-making work at the national and state level. This position will be responsible for managing systems to execute, track, and evaluate America Votes grantmaking. This person will work closely with state and national staff and stakeholders to capture grant-related information and report on progress towards goals for a variety of internal and external audiences. This position reports directly to the National Director of Development.

Location

This position is based in Washington, DC and will be expected to work from the DC office at least 2-3 days per week on average.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of overall organizational grantmaking strategy and individual grantmaking decisions.
• Build and maintain systems to ensure regular comprehensive tracking and reporting of grants status
• Assist National Director of Development and relevant state staff in regular evaluation of progress toward grant-related goals, spanning qualitative and quantitative success measures.
• Communicate regularly with state staff and grantees to ensure grant obligations are being met.
• Prepare regular reports on grantee activity and granting program to internal and external audiences.
• Coordinate with Development department to track and respond to reporting requests from funders
• Coordinate with Political and Field departments to make sure necessary table agreements signed prior to grants being made
• Compile information for regular funder updates and provide other support for the Development department
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Demonstrated grantmaking or grants management experience
• Understanding of common direct voter contact, issue advocacy programs, and other progressive organizing capacities
• Experience building strong and accountable relationships across an organization
• Comfortable working within and across teams to drive projects forward
• Ability to prioritize and handle variety of projects simultaneously
• Extremely detail- and deadline-oriented
• Ability to write and communicate clearly and appropriately for a variety of audiences
• Demonstrated commitment to racial equity
• Work well with people from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent organization and time-management skills
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills
• Basic knowledge of c3/c4/PAC designations
• Proficiency in Google suite

Compensation

The salary for this position will be between $62,000 and $66,000 and depend upon the applicant's experience. America Votes offers a competitive benefits package covering 100% of employee medical, dental, & vision insurance premiums, life insurance, long term disability coverage, monthly cell phone reimbursement, personal professional development funds, parental leave, and 401 (K) after six months of continuous service with the organization.

America Votes provides a generous paid time off policy with paid vacation, unlimited sick and safe leave, paid personal days, at least 10 Federal paid holidays including Juneteenth, as well as paid organizational time off from at least December 23 to January 1. The position is represented by the America Votes Workers Union.
