MHRN- Mental Health Triage Registered Nurse
The Oregon State Hospital, a division of the Oregon Health Authority, has a fantastic opportunity for REGISTERED NURSES to join an excellent team working to help people recover from their illness and return to their lives in the community.
What you will do!
The Mental Health Triage RN creates a consistent standard of work in the admissions process by assisting with the coordination of admissions to the Oregon State Hosptial. The Mental Health Triage RN works to establish positive relationships with all stakeholders. The Mental Health Triage RN shall make all initial nursing contacts with facilities from which patients are being admitted. The basis for psychiatric nursing is the recognition and identification of patterns of response to mental health problems utilizing the nursing process of assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with other disciplines. The Mental Health Triage RN will create and maintain documentation necessary to provide all stakeholders the information needed to prepare for the most appropriate care of the patient immediately upon admission. The Mental Health Triage RN shall utilize this information to assist the Admissions Manager in determination of best unit of admission for each patient. The Mental Health Triage RN is expected to maintain contact with outside stakeholders as appropriate throughout the pre-admission and admission process. In order to ensure each patient receives the best possible care, the Mental Health Triage RN will ensure that immediately prior to admission, all stakeholders have the most up to date information related to the patient.
The Mental Health Triage RN may be expected to assist units with staffing admissions and to provide training to other OSH staff related to admission procedures.
The Mental Health Triage RN is responsible for practicing in accordance with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Standard of Psychiatric/Mental Health Clinical Nursing Practice, applicable state and federal laws, regulatory agency rules, DHS and OSH policies and procedures.

Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm with days off Saturday/Sunday

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid and unencumbered Oregon Professional Registered Nurse license during the entire length of their employment.
Desired Attributes:
Experience working in mental health
Experience in conflict and crisis management
Strong leadership skills
Experience in milieu management
Ability to manage multiple job responsibilities at one time
Additional Requirements of the MHRN position:

Pay incentives for our Registered Nurses
Educational incentives:
Bachelor’s degree +4.75% base rate
Master’s degree + 9.5% base rate
Doctorate degree +12% base rate
Shift incentives for Weekends, Evenings, Nights as well as specialty differentials for additional continuing education
