Duties
The Climate Pollution Reduction Program Project Manager works within the Information Technology Section, which provides information, tools and services to support Climate Pollution Reduction Program (CPRP) staff and management in their efforts to stabilize and improve Washington’s environment. As a Project Manager, you will be involved in the project management and development of highly visible application development projects used by myriad internal and external users, such as Ecology staff, or staff from large industrial sources, who rely on these applications to report environmental data. You'll lead interdisciplinary teams of software engineers and environmental scientists to deliver customized software solutions so that CPRP scientists and managers can make sound judgments to protect human health and the environment. Your responsibilities will include organizing your project teams, developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and directing the execution of these plans. The complexity of this work involves detailed planning, execution, and responding to evolving IT technology and best practices . If you possess excellent communication skills, the ability to quickly assess a situation when making a decision and a strong willingness to collaborate across project teams, then this position is for you! Some of your duties as Project Manager include:
Develop IT project plans and charters, set and manage project schedule, manage product backlog, develop and implement communication strategy and plan, and other project management artifacts to ensure business needs are met.
Coordinate the work of project team members and manage project team through regularly scheduled meetings.
Participate in the development of the business case, cost/benefit analysis and feasibility of proposed CPRP IT software development projects.
Develop, monitor and maintain constructive working relationships with various interested parties to ensure project progress.
Prepare briefing papers and give presentations to program management on project status.
Facilitate requirements gathering meetings and workshops across multiple sections in the CPRP. Know the questions to ask, define problems, evaluate needs, and solve problems to facilitate collection of business requirements to ensure end-user requirements are met.
Consult with managers, staff and external partners to examine technology needs and problems; review and resolve highly complex problems involving system integration issues so that CPRP information systems integrate with other Ecology information systems.
Develop and gather project metrics such as actual project performance to schedule, budget and functionality.
Maintain the project schedule and report against actual versus baseline and maintain project costs.
Participate in contracted, interstate or international software development projects as an Ecology IT liaison with other Ecology business subject matter experts.

Required Qualifications:
Six years of experience and/or education as described below:
Experience in Information Technology (IT) project management. Experience includes but is not limited to, business analysis, user interface design, system testing, and all facets of IT project management for IT projects .
Education involving a major study in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Business Administration, or closely related field.
Examples of how to qualify:
6 years of experience.
5 years of experience AND 30-59 semester or 45-89 quarter college credits.
4 years of experience AND 60-89 semester or 90-134 quarter college credits (Associate’s degree).
4 years of experience AND completion of a two-year accredited vocational training program in IT, or related program.

Job Responsibilities:
Use every means possible to find the bugs in the software and/or hardware being developed by your team.
Write test plans to validate Arista features and products.
Design test network topologies to validate functionality, performance, stability and scalability of features and products.
Execute test plans to verify all aspects of the product. Identify defects and validate resolution.
Work as an agile member of a combined development and test team, running in short cycles to develop functional software in quick iterations.
Work with the developers on your team in creating their plans for automated tests to complement the exploratory testing that you perform. Be the testing expert for your team.
Participate in functional specification and software design reviews held by your team and provide customer centric input.
Qualifications
Proven expertise in creating test methodologies and writing test plans.
Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Ethernet , RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing , TCP/IP , OSPF, IS-IS, BGP , IGMP, PIM SM/ SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols , Platform validation, HA, QOS, network management.

Additional Information
The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $110,000 to $185,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. As a core member of the Platform software team, the candidate will be part of a fast-paced, high caliber team building diagnostic software to help validate high-speed digital designs and achieve high yields in manufacturing Arista Network products used in the computer networking industry's largest data centers.
The Platform software team is responsible for all aspects of the development and delivery of hardware validation and manufacturing diagnostic software. The successful candidate will work closely on a project from its early conception to the final production stage at an off-site contract manufacturer. They will work with fellow engineers and members of the hardware and manufacturing team to understand the design and validate it. Besides closely working with the hardware engineers in designing the board, they will also review the hardware specifications and produce diagnostic specifications for the board. With that as a basis, the candidate will design the code to bring all of these to life. They will also work with customers to triage and fix problems in their networks. They will play a major role in improving yield at the contract manufacturer site as their software will be critical in validating the builds and quickly identify manufacturing defects.
This role demands a strong and broad software engineering background, and a good understanding of hardware board design technology as well as third party network processors. The Platform software team is responsible for all aspects of the development and delivery of hardware validation and manufacturing diagnostic software. The successful candidate will work closely on a project from its early conception to the final production stage at an off-site contract manufacturer. They will work with fellow engineers and members of the hardware and manufacturing team to understand the design and validate it. Besides closely working with the hardware engineers in designing the board, they will also review the hardware specifications and produce diagnostic specifications for the board. With that as a basis, the candidate will design the code to bring all of these to life. They will also work with customers to triage and fix problems in their networks. They will play a major role in improving yield at the contract manufacturer site as their software will be critical in validating the builds and quickly identify manufacturing defects.
This role demands a strong and broad software engineering background, and a good understanding of hardware board design technology as well as third party network processors. The candidate's role will not be limited to any single aspect of managing ASIC-based networking solution, but cover all aspects of bringing up new hardware, developing all features requiring hardware validation, testing the software and hardware, and supporting our customers using the products. As an experienced engineer, this role also requires that they take an active part in organizing a team of engineers to tackle a project, providing vision for the project, managing the schedule for the project, and coordinating the activities of the team.

Isolate and perform root-cause analysis of reported failures
Support new platform software and hardware features

Summary of Responsibilities
Installs and maintains the server and storage infrastructure of the University which involves capacity planning, installing hardware and software, tuning performance, configuring backups, trouble-shooting and resolving system problems. Manages select enterprise and infrastructure applications.
Essential Functions
Monitors and controls equipment in a client and/or server environment. Determines equipment settings and operating instructions and maintaining operating records. Utilizes understanding of client and/or server relationships to identify moderately complex problem sources concerning system operations. Communicates with system users to identify, explain, and resolve moderately complex problems. May act as second-level support for help desk for certain problem resolution.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent by hire date.
Six (6) years of experience in server administration. Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Experience managing Linux Servers.
Ability to use and manage VMWare ESXi.
Ability to manage server storage.
Ability to use and manager enterprise backup solutions.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to remain in a stationary position.
