Use every means possible to find the bugs in the software and/or hardware being developed by your team.
Write test plans to validate Arista features and products.
Design test network topologies to validate functionality, performance, stability and scalability of features and products.
Execute test plans to verify all aspects of the product. Identify defects and validate resolution.
Work as an agile member of a combined development and test team, running in short cycles to develop functional software in quick iterations.
Work with the developers on your team in creating their plans for automated tests to complement the exploratory testing that you perform. Be the testing expert for your team.
Participate in functional specification and software design reviews held by your team and provide customer centric input.
Qualifications
Proven expertise in creating test methodologies and writing test plans.
Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Ethernet , RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing , TCP/IP , OSPF, IS-IS, BGP , IGMP, PIM SM/ SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols , Platform validation, HA, QOS, network management.

When you’re in the business of making connections, diversity and inclusion become part of your fiber. We believe in unlocking the power of diversity to drive digital connectivity, so if you feel your experience looks a little different, and you can add value, we encourage you to apply! #BuildGigabitAmerica
What you’ll do:
Mentor Junior Engineers
Review code for accuracy, efficiency, maintainability
Design, engineer, test, deploy, maintain, and improve current and future software
What you’ll need:
Required

2+ years leading a technical team
Preferred
Degree in Computer Science or a related field

Ability to take complex ideas and mold them into a deployable product
Strong experience building services in Python, Go, JavaScript, and/or PHP
Experience with continuous integration and source code management tools
Knowledge of DevOps strategies and concepts
Desired
Knowledge of modern networking concepts, routing protocols, and hardware/software (Routers, BGP/NETCONF, Junos, etc.)
Frontier salaries estimated by third parties and may or may not reflect actual or total compensation. Please confirm with your recruiter.
We are deeply committed to attracting talented team members in the US from all backgrounds regardless of race, age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability status, or nationality. However, at this time, we are not sponsoring any Visas.
Frontier Communications is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.

Do you want to change the world? Zipline was founded by engineers dedicated to making the world a better place. We have built a drone network that delivers critical and life-saving medicine in multiple countries. We supply thousands of hospitals, serving millions of people. And that’s just the start! Our mission is to provide every human on Earth with instant access to vital medical supplies. Join us to help make this a reality!
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Zipline is looking for Embedded Software Engineers at all skill levels to advance our autonomous aircraft and ground systems.
As an embedded systems engineer, you will immediately find yourself involved in critical feature development, mentored in the skills needed to grow as an engineer, and soon trusted with key product decisions.
No other drone company operates on a scale like ours. We are integrated into national health care systems and are responsible for rapid delivery of life saving products. We engineer our system to be efficient, reliable, and easy to maintain.
Among our current challenges:
Scale our flight and distribution center software to 10,000 medical deliveries a day
Prototype, refine, and rigorously test next generation systems
Continuously improve flight controls and perception on RTOSes and on Embedded Linux
Develop new methods to detect software problems, aging components, and extreme weather
Engineers come into the office as needed during the pandemic. As public health restrictions are lifted, we are excited to collaborate in person at our office in South San Francisco, California.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
You write quality code and know how to verify it will perform in the real word. You can work as part of a dynamic team, picking up new skills and sharing your knowledge with others. Your background is likely multidisciplinary, with an appreciation for the electrical and mechanical challenges your code faces.
Our software controls high-energy systems in close proximity to people, so you have safety top-of-mind. You make informed, practical choices so our system can be relied on for years to come by the doctors and patients who count on us 24/7.
Technical:
Strong skills in embedded software. You are comfortable in one or more of: C, C++, Rust. We use Python for tools and server software.
Experience working as part of a team, sharing and reviewing one another’s code
Experience writing peripheral drivers, making operating system modifications, and writing software based on an electrical schematic or datasheet
Excellent communication (written, verbal, and visual)
Experience implementing and simulating controls and estimation algorithms for dynamic systems beyond PID is useful but not required. E.g. state space, Kalman filters.
Experience in aviation is not required!
WHAT ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Zipline is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws or our own sensibilities.
We value diversity at Zipline and welcome applications from those who are traditionally underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this position but are not sure if you are the perfect fit, please apply!
